Losing Weight Before Your Wedding Day

Every bride wants to look perfect in her wedding dress. Let's face it, you are the center of attention that day so you want to look your best. For some brides, shedding a few pounds is important to them while others look only to maintain their weight.

Some brides will go dress shopping and find the perfect style for them. They decide to buy it a little snug because they know they will be watching their weight and are going to fit into it by the wedding. Sometimes this is all the motivation they need to drop a few pounds or firm up.

If you are planning to slim down before your big day, everything will mostly depend on how far away your wedding is. If you have decided to get married in say 4 months, and need to purchase a dress quickly then you won't have a lot of time to lose weight. I have a few warnings here: Don't try diet pills because they may cause you more harm than good. Diet pills can stimulate the sympathetic nervous system which can raise blood pressure and heart rate and possibly increase the chance of cardiac arrest or heart attack. Starving yourself means entering another dangerous zone. Your body will break down and your metabolism will slow dramatically. You will feel tired and weak, as you are denying your body essential nutrients. You want to look healthy and beautiful on your wedding day don't you?

The best and easiest way to lose weight is to eat high protein meals while cutting carbs, sugar and fat from your diet wherever possible. Attempt a regular schedule of exercise such as walking, running, yoga or aerobics. The recommended calorie intake for a woman watching her weight should be between 1200-1400 and no lower. The definition of basal metabolic rate is the minimum calorie requirement needed to sustain life in a resting individual. Here is how the BMR is calculated for women:

What You Need To Know To Lose Weight Now

ByDaren H Cari

This article should answer some of your questions on ways to begin a weight loss program. Discussed below are the tips that you can use to accomplish your weight loss goals.

Having a large amount of muscle can assist you in burning calories. The more muscle you have, the higher your natural calorie-burning ability is. Strength training conducted two or three times weekly is the way to go for building up muscles and taking advantage of these benefits.

You should be conscious of unhealthy eating habits while at work. A lot of jobs are of the sedentary nature. Get more exercise each day by making personal deliveries instead of placing your papers on a cart that goes by. You'll maintain your weight and feel healthier in the long run.

Eating walnuts is a terrific way to keep your appetite under control. There is a study that concluded eating walnuts with breakfast will help people feel full for a long period of time when compared to those who did not eat walnuts in the morning. In addition to being a great meal ingredient, a handful of walnuts as a snack can really help avoid between meal hunger pangs.

You can improve your nutrition and lose weight more easily by drinking green tea, which helps to cleanse your system and to fight fat. The best thing you can drink besides water is green tea with no sugar. Both beverages are superior tools in the battle against the bulge.

People often try to hide their weight loss goals from other people. Supportive friends and family can provide encouragement and help you with motivation if you let them in on your plans. They may also change their eating habits and what they prepare for meals in order to better help you be successful at your desire to lose weight.

Do not be obsessed with the scale. You can harm your confidence by constantly stepping on the scale. Fat weighs less than muscle, and muscle is what exercise is likely to build. Try to judge your progress by how your clothing fits, instead.

In order to attain the weight loss goals you have set for yourself, consume more fruits that are low in fat. However, you shouldn't eat high-calorie fruits, such as grapes. Instead, you should eat low-calorie ones, such as apples and bananas.

Record your progress when you are trying to lose weight. Track your weight every day to be reminded of how much you need to lose to reach your goal. This process gives you some extra motivation to stick with your goals.

Try various weight-loss methods, and you may find something that will be more effective than the plans you were following. You can indeed lose weight.

Prepared to take your fitness to the subsequent level? Or just want to really get a lean body? Whatever your goal is, you'll need a good plan to make it materialize. I recommend utilizing the conditioning plan outlined in the Fat Burning Furnace routine. This system is effective and can be tweaked for all levels of fitness. So if you're working on your hard six pack, or just want to lose tummy fat then grab Fat Burning Furnace today!

5 Tips To Get Motivated And Start Losing Weight

ByJoel G Anderson

Do you feel the need to lose weight but just lack the drive to take the necessary steps you ought to to shed off those extra pounds? If this is your problem then you probably are lacking motivation. Losing weight is no easy task and calls for a lot of self discipline, commitment, patience and determination. People who succeed in fighting obesity and scaling down to good shape often put a lot of effort to get these results. In so doing, a fair share of motivation is required to withstand the tough times when you'll be feeling like abandoning your diet and going back to the seemingly delicious fast foods that perhaps appears to be way more appealing than the vegetables on your diet.

Consequently if lack of motivation is your problem, there are 5 main tips that can get you motivated to start losing weight. First and foremost, look for things that will make it worthwhile for you to strive all you can to lose weight. It is often easier struggling to achieve something when you are sure you will reap some benefits at the end of it all. So you have to first start by jotting down things that you will benefit from by losing weight. Will it be a higher self esteem, greater confidence or an attractive body? The key here is finding things that just by the thought of achieving them; you feel an inner strength developing pushing you to start the weight loss journey. In a nutshell you need to figure out what's in for you.

Optimism and positive thinking always have a positive influence in motivating you to lose weight. For instance if you keep allowing yourself to think that your efforts won't yield any fruits or to think that it is just too difficult for you to lose weight due to your current overweight status you will be simply limiting your success by creating hurdles in your mind that will discourage you from even putting any efforts that can result in weight loss. But think about how good and encouraging it will feel if you start telling yourself "There are many people who've made it before I too can" or "I believe I'm disciplined and determined enough to lose weight if I just set my mind to it". Often your thinking will either motivate you or demotivate you so you just have to decide what you want to feel by choosing the right thoughts.

Additionally it is essential that you set for yourself small rewards that you will be aiming at winning or working for while you are on the go. A good example can be let's say making up your mind that you will be purchasing yourself a new outfit every time you lose 2-3Ibs. This will get you started as you focus on the given reward and on and on you will go until you finally wake up one day, look in the mirror and see the person you have always dreamt about.

Another equally important strategy to get you motivated to start losing weight is looking at people you know of who have been able to successfully lose weight and are currently in good physical shape. Let their experiences motivate you and make you realize that you also can do it. If possible approach them for a few tips on how they were able to lose weight and what they did to overcome the challenges that were coming their way. Normally you will find that you are familiar with most if not all the challenges they faced and at times the methods they used to offset these challenges may also be applicable to your situation making it easier for you to go about them.

Finally, motivation may come from having other people to hold you accountable and provide a shoulder to lean on when the going gets tough. You can choose to join a group of weight challenged people who are seeking to lose weight or just find a friend at the gym or in your neighborhood who also wants to lose weight to see you through the journey. Hold each other accountable in regards to sticking to your respective diet plans and exercising as regular as possible to prevent any one of you from falling out.

Help Me Lose Weight, You Intrepid Explorer

Me: Pardon me, I wonder if you might help me lose weight?

I mean, you know what they say - whoever 'they' are: Two heads are better than one. Please. I really need the help.

Well, I admit that it's quite impossible for you to literally help me lose weight. I mean, you are reading this in one part of the world, and I, well, who knows where I am.

But no problem, as the kids these days say. We'll just pretend that you are an intrepid explorer. Furthermore, I think it would be cool if, as an explorer, you had some outdoorsy way to lose weight.

You: You know, I do enjoy the outdoors. OK, I'll give it a try.

Me: Great! Thank you, thank you. So what do you have in mind to help me lose weight?

You: Have you ever tried rock climbing?

Me: Uh... er... hmmm...

You: Hey, wouldn't you like to burn up 400 to 500 calories just by climbing a middle-sized rock? Plus, rock climbing can burn up to 380 calories in 30 minutes. (Kids, don't try this at home.)

Actually, rock climbing gives you a double boost - one to your heart and lungs and another to your arms and legs. It is one of the top cardio exercises.

Here's the deal: Take a moderate rock climb and add in a sensible diet and voila! You'll be slim and trim in no time.

Me: Which means that all I really have to do is eat right and climb rocks?

You: You know, this might be a good place for a disclaimer.

(Important Disclaimer: Do not begin any rock climbing exercise program without first getting an OK from your doctor or medical professional.)

Me: Well, that reminds me. What if I'm seriously obese, or what if I'm 75 years old, or... OK, I'll be honest. What if I'm an exercise wimp? I'm not sure that rock climbing is exactly what I had in mind.

You: But hey, I have a bonus for you.

Me: A bonus?

You: I am serious. Even if you have an aversion to exercising, you'll love rock climbing. It's fun. Trust me.

Me: That's a bonus?

You: The fun. The fun is the bonus.

Me: Well, I'm sure rock climbing is fun, but...

You: Also, here are some tips.

Me: What tips?

You: No matter what your rock climbing skill is, whether you're a newbie or a seasoned veteran, scaling the side of a rock means your body will have to have the proper fuel. Which is to say, the proper food plus water.

No-no No. 1: Never, never, never go rock climbing on an empty stomach. Ever.

Why? It's just common sense. Rock climbing requires your complete attention every second you're scaling the side of that rock. Giving that attention instead to feelings of hunger and/or thirst can lead to injury.

Your whole body needs to be adequately fortified, which means you need ample:

• Roughage. Make sure you get plenty of dietary fiber in the 24 hours before your climb.

• Protein. Cold-water fish such as salmon and tuna are excellent sources of protein. Avocados and nuts are ideal pre-climb snacks.

Me: I appreciate the suggestions, but can't I follow them without, you know, climbing rocks?

You: Plus, let's be clear. Whole wheat bread, not white. Fresh fruit, not canned. For the love of Mike, please save the canned fruit for the next tornado or alien attack or whatever natural disaster.

All right, I'll admit that canned fruit and white bread can give your body a certain, albeit low, amount of energy. What we are trying to avoid, however, is an emergency call of nature when we're halfway up a 100-foot rock.

And oh by the way, no soda pop or coffee before a rock climb. They're diuretics, and we don't want a bladder attack while rock climbing (I don't really have to add alcohol to the list of no-nos, do I?) Just use common sense.

Now, for water:

Make absolutely sure you have easy access to drinking water at all times. You simply can't afford to be anything less than fully hydrated when you are rock climbing.

You should know that rock climbing can make you sweat like a horse.

Me: I'm beginning to sweat already, thinking that maybe I asked the wrong person to help me lose weight.

You: And if you let yourself become dehydrated, you run the risk of becoming weak, even faint, and you could easily suffer a loss of concentration. That is not a good condition for a rock climber to be in.

Me: First I was sweating. Now I'm feeling faint.

You: Also, you don't want to let yourself get overheated. So, to repeat Water Rule No. 1, just make sure you have easy access to drinking water before you climb, while you are climbing, and after your climb, when you are standing on a rocky peak and celebrating your weight loss - and your grand accomplishment.

Me (after a pause): You're good. I have to hand it to you. I can see how you could help me lose weight.

However... rock climbing just isn't the answer. Not for me. Not now. Not ever. Can you help me lose weight please some other way?

You: Of course. I know quite a number of rather wonderful and very effective ways, actually. Starting right now, if you'd like.

Me: Really? You're kidding! You can help me lose weight right now!?

You: Absolutely.

Me: No kidding? No rock climbing or anything like that?

You: No, nothing like rock climbing at all. That's a promise.

Me (smiling): What a nice man. (beat) Woman. (beat) Intrepid explorer. (beat) Whatever.

To discover the ways Intrepid Explorer can help me lose weight, please go to http://helpmeloseweightplease.com.

Healthy Eating Most of the Time

ByMichael Ron

We live in a society where food that is terrible for our bodies is all around us. Restaurants are a source of temptation, but even the grocery store is not safe. The good news is that there are healthy choices at both. You can have delicious and healthy meals without sacrificing everything that you love. They key is to use moderation and to treat your diet as a way to love yourself. The point of eating healthy is to take care of your health, not torture or extreme deprivation. You are on the right track if you eat healthy foods 80% of the time and the other 20% try to have healthier versions of your favorite treats.

Most of your meals (80%) should be lean, green and natural. That means whole foods that you can recognize and no processed ingredients. The main star of these meals should be vegetables and possibly a serving of fruit if you need something to satisfy a sweet tooth. You should be eating two different types of vegetables with each lunch and dinner and at dinner it is a good idea to add salad greens. These should be non-starch vegetables and leafy greens. You can eat them raw or steamed and make sure you pile them on at least half of your plate.

The next attraction should be a lean source of protein. Chicken, lean cuts of beef, lean pork, fish, eggs and tofu are all excellent choices. If you are a vegetarian there are plenty of delicious meat substitutes and recipes out there so that you do not have to skimp on the protein at meals. You should aim to eat no more than 4 oz of meat at a sitting. Using a food scale is the best way to make sure you are not eating portions that are too large, but if you do not have one 4oz is about the size of your palm or a deck of playing cards.

If you have to have a starch with your meal it should be no more than a half cup serving. Choose brown rice, whole wheat pasta, half a baked potato or splurge and have a whole sweet potato. Barley or quinoa is a good alternative when you start to get bored with other grains, or you could have a half cup of corn or peas. That's right, corn and peas should be considered a starch and not a vegetable.

To kick up the flavor in your meals use spices instead of fatty or sugary sauces. Spices can add a great deal of flavor without adding extra fat and calories. If you like butter on your vegetables or starchy side then have a little butter. A tiny pat of butter adds enough flavor and is much better for your body than chemical laden margarine. Just be sure you use a small amount.

Breakfast should be tackled the same way as lunch or dinner. You can eat two or three servings of fruit if you do not like the idea of having vegetables with your breakfast. Make sure one of the servings of fruit is a lower sugar fruit like berries or melon. Eggs are an inexpensive, high protein choice. Just make sure you eat the yolks because that is where all the nutrients are. The fat in them will help keep you satisfied until lunch. If you do not like eggs then some turkey sausage or bacon is a good alternative. Vegetarians and non vegetarians alike could also indulge in some veggie sausage or veggie bacon. Both are tasty and healthier substitutes for their less healthy counterparts.

The other 20% of the time you can have your favorite meals without really thinking too much about it. Try to have healthier versions of your favorite recipes and remember to keep your portions in check. You can have your favorite foods, but that does not mean that it is acceptable to have unlimited quantities of these foods.

7 Sneaky Ways to Bust a Weight Loss Plateau

"Mikey, I can't seem to shake this weight loss plateau. I've dropped (insert number of lbs of fat) and I can't seem to get past that. Any suggestions?" - I've been asked that or something similar dozens of times.

I think I've written a post or two about it before, but when the alarm at 4 AM went off this morning, I knew this was what I was going to write for you since I've been approached by it through email or visits at my gym a lot recently. It was either this or the fact that I'm going to win my first fantasy football game since week 1. That's right, homie. Holla'!!

Insert awkward silence here - "Awkward Silence"

We've all hit the dreaded weight loss plateau. It happens. It even happened to me. You're doing all the right things like eating better, working out hard and getting plenty of rest. But you've hit a wall and you can't find a way around it.

Well, that's not cool. Good luck!

The end

That was fun and awesome to type. But so are the tips below to help you break your weight loss plateau. Over the years as a trainer, I've discovered some cool ways to get around that annoying plateau. Some of it is basic common sense and you just needed it to be drilled into your head one more time before actually doing it, while some of it may take you out of your comfort zone.

Well, you can either stay comfortable in your comfy zone, or you can quit being a wuss and implement it, then finally be victorious in your quest of breaking your weight loss plateau. Let the wusses stay in the comfort zone. The comfort zone is not for you. Put on your gloves and let's go to war...

Sneaky Way 1 - Track your calories either by hand or through free resources like fitday.com. Is it annoying and a little time consuming? Yep. But if it was easy, wouldn't everybody be lean? Just sayin'. Sure, you may THINK you're bringing in 1500 calories, but once you plug in each and every bite you take and discover you're consuming 2000 calories, then you know what to adjust.

Sneaky Way 2 - Try intermittent fasting. There are several ways to do this. One of the popular ways is 24 hours off. Mondays are my fasting days and typically my most productive days. Another option is 16 hours of fasting followed by an 8 hour window of eating every day.

Sneaky Way 3 - Adjust your nutrition a little tighter. Simply replacing one of your starches for non-starchy veggies will reduce your calories by up to 200. Veggies don't have to be boring either. As a matter of fact, I got some awesome turkey chili with plenty of veggies in it in the fridge right now. As you lose fat, I don't care what the experts say, it does get tougher. But you just tweak and retweak and your weight loss will continue.

Sneaky Way 4 - Use total body workouts. Whether you have been on a body part split or an upper/lower split, if you incorporate total body workouts, you will give your body a nice shock and burn more calories. The key here is to use big, compound movements. I've got some sample routines at my blog. Even if you are short on time, you can still work your whole body.

Sneaky Way 5 - Staying active on your "off days". Even on the days when you're not working out, you can break a weight loss plateau by staying active on your off days. I've discovered that this works better for your mentality then it does for actual fat loss (and yes, it helps with fat loss... but more with your mentality... dang it, now I'm repeating myself and this is a long sentence between the parenthesis). When my clients (and including myself) stay active, I'm less tempted to splurge when I'm not supposed to. But burning a few more hundred calories is pretty cool, too. This can be done by going for a low-intensity walk or jog, playing with your kids, etc., etc.

Sneaky Way 6 - Switch your exercises to single limb movements. In other words, instead of squats, incorporate Bulgarian squats. Switch Romanian deadlifts for 1-legged Romanian deadlifts. Insead of the barbell row, switch to the 1-arm db row.

Tell knock-knock jokes to your favorite body parts.

I know that sounds freaky, but I wanted to make sure you're paying attention. (By the way it doesn't work, but it's still fun)

Sneaky Way 7 - Cheat. Yep, I said it. Cheat on your diet. Some people are so "gung-ho" that they forget to cut loose and enjoy life a little bit. When you're constantly on a calorie deficit (awesome, I sepelled deficit right!) Ha! Good one... you will probably find yourself struggling through your workouts and find yourself a little cranky. Plan a reward meal or two. It does wonders for your mentality and it can actually help you with your fat loss. You get the occasional boost as well as raise your leptin levels. That's a whole new post that I will not even type. A guest post perhaps is in order for that one...

Boom goes the "sneaky ways to bust through weight loss plateau" dynamite

That should help.

The Most Common Mistake People Make When Trying to Lose Weight

You get into the latest dance fad, cycle, run, lift weights.

Or maybe all of that.

You count calories like an Enron auditor. Calories in and out. You might even use a BodyBugg or a Nike FuelBand to help you.

But your fat loss is minimal to none. Or maybe you lost some initially and now the whole process has eased into neutral.

What's up with that?

You're making the same mistake that Weight Watchers finally admitted to and changed.

Calorie counting.

Here's what David Kirchoff, President and CEO of Weight Watchers International had to say:
"We needed a program that recognized that calories are most definitely not created equal.

We knew that counting, budgeting and planning still made fundamental sense, but we wanted a better and more accurate currency. We wanted a POINTS formula that was much more "opinionated" about food choices beyond just calories."

The Problem

As Mr. Kirchoff pointed out, calories are not created equal. A Snickers Bar (

Even Healthy Foods Cause Weight Gain

For anyone trying to lose weight, eating the right amount of food can pose quite a challenge. A wide variety of relatively inexpensive, good tasting food is available almost everywhere; in fact, it's hard to get away from. There are fast food restaurants featuring super-sized meals and drive through options on practically every corner. Pizzerias tempt us with coupons, buy one-get one deals, and free delivery. Food markets - big and small - lure us in with can-can sales and free samples. And at work, free food occasions happen on a regular basis.

We no longer have to spend most of our day hunting and gathering food as our ancestors did. It's quite the opposite; we have to work very hard to get away from the overabundance we are faced with on a minute-by-minute basis in today's toxic food environment. So, what's a health-conscious eater to do? Here are a few simple techniques that are sure to help you choose portion sizes that support a healthy weight.

Have a plan. Decide ahead of time what, when, how much, and where you will eat. This will minimize your chances of making poor eating decisions. For example, imagine you arrive at work one day and are welcomed by a spread of bagels with all the toppings, but you already ate breakfast. Without a plan, you eat a bagel and feel guilty. With a plan, you walk away or take a bagel and save it for tomorrow.

Eat before you eat. Start your meal with a filling appetizer such as a salad topped with vinaigrette, low-calorie soup, or cut-up fresh fruit. This way you take the edge off your hunger before eating the more calorically dense main course. You'll end up feeling satisfied with less.

Fill your plate. Start with a smaller plate and fill it up. It's common sense; a smaller plate holds less food. And your healthy portions won't look too small when they are filling the whole plate. This technique satisfies your psychological need to get enough food. The same principle applies to bowls and glasses.

Divide it before you eat it. Think of the protein and starch items on your plate as side dishes. For example, fill half your plate with broccoli, a quarter with chicken, and a quarter with pasta. This will provide you with a healthy balance of food and leave you feeling satisfied - with less calories.

Pre-portion tempting foods. Dipping your spoon right into a pint of ice cream or reaching your hand into a bottomless bag of your favorite chips is just asking for trouble. It's easy to overdo it when you're not paying attention. Rather than eating straight from the package, get out your scale or measuring cups, serve yourself one portion, and then put the rest away.

Slow down and decide. When you eat too fast, you can end up consuming more food than originally intended. Try to make your meals last at least 15 minutes and give your body a chance to feel satisfied. Then wait awhile and go back for seconds only if you are still truly hungry.

Don't be a victim of portion distortion. Take charge of your eating by learning how much you need to eat each day to lose weight and then follow through by measuring and weighing your foods and beverages. Don't kid yourself. If you're not losing weight chances are you're overeating. Remember, even healthy foods can cause weight gain.

How To Ward Off Unwanted Weight

Exercise should always be done in workout gear that is comfortable. You should wear clothes that allow you to sweat for a healthy work out. Wear clothes that are comfy to move around in and give you enough breathing room. When you finish your workout routine, you should always change into fresh, dry clothes. There is no reason to be uncomfortable if you are going to exercise. If your clothing does not allow your skin to breathe, you may find yourself becoming overheated and uncomfortable after only a few minutes. You can change once you are done, but it is very important to wear comfortable clothes while you are exercising.

Find a partner to work out with to help you reach your fitness peak. Your fitness partner's job is to enable you to keep up to date with your progress and keep you on target. They'll hopefully enable you to retain your motivation - especially on the odd occasion when you would prefer to be curled up in bed. If you have someone to talk and laugh with, you'll have more fun and want to work out longer. It may be easier to stick to your fitness goals if you have a workout buddy. This workout buddy will help you stay alert, and make you be responsible in sticking with your fitness program. This idea will increase your levels of motivation too. The social interaction you will enjoy may keep you working out longer. You may forget that you are exercising!

Start trying to ride your bike with one leg in the pedals instead of two. Doing this will make you concentrate on pulling your leg up, not just on pushing down. This will train you to work your muscles as your legs go up and down. Try riding your bike with one leg on the pedals. This method allows you to concentrate your muscles when both pulling up and pushing down. It will help you gain muscle and input power on the down stroke and up stroke.

You can go swimming to stay in shape. Swimming is a very low-impact sport that helps you burn calories and build muscle mass and endurance. You will usually find pools in your local gym. Swimming is one of the most beneficial exercises that you can do as it works all the muscle groups. No joints will be strained or injured during a swim, and the exercise will tone muscles, improve endurance, and burn lots of calories. Pools for exercising can be found at most gyms. There is also indoor and outdoor community pools that usually provide a lap or two strictly for people who are exercising.

Strengthening your hamstrings will allow you to sprint faster. They are what are used for acceleration when you are running. It's good to do leg curls to improve your hamstrings. Be careful not to release your leg curl quickly. Instead, control the release to get the most benefit. Remember that exercising your hamstrings can lead to great benefits, such as faster sprinting times. Improve your sprint speed by working out your hamstrings. These muscles are necessary for pushing off and really affect your speed. You can get strong hamstrings by doing leg curls; just release the curl slowly for best results. Powerful hamstrings will improve your sprint every time.

Those who are not used to exercising regularly will find it difficult to stay motivated. The ideal way to approach this problem is by beginning at a gradual pace. Parking a little further from the store or from your work are little ways in which you can incorporate exercising into your day and make it a habit rather than a chore. A short stroll during work breaks can be very beneficial to your health. Research actually supports that idea that if you exercise a couple of time per week for at least 30 minutes, you will benefit hugely.

When you happen to be unfamiliar with exercise and hate the thought of it, motivating yourself to keep up a strict regime can seem impossible. Start your progress slowly, and go from there. Start with small steps, like parking further from the entrance when you go to work. Use your lunch break to take a short stroll, or do some light stretching in your office. All it takes is just a little bit of exercise a few days a week to notice a difference.

The advice in this article shows getting fit is not as hard as you imagine. All you need is time, dedication, patience, and hard work. These are essential things in working out and everyday life. If you can be successful in other important areas of life, then of course you can reach your fitness goals. It is time to get yourself to where you want to exercise and start getting it done! These tips show you that making your body leaner and more toned is not that difficult. Patience, effort, and sticking with your plan are the fundamentals of success. These are the keys to working out, and also the keys to all you do in your life. If you are successful at parenting or if you are great at work, then achieving success in your fitness goals should be easy for you. The way to achieve all of this is by getting out there and just doing it. There is no doubt that you can learn ways to lose weight when you apply some of the tips discussed above.

Get Happy and Lose Weight by Walking

ByTeresa Opara

For many people, losing weight seems like an insurmountable task. Many people in today's society struggle with being overweight or obese, which can have adverse health effects, as well as affecting a person's overall happiness. Many people have tried to lose weight without success by starving themselves and undergoing rigorous and unpleasant physical training. This approach almost never works. A simple plan of making healthier food choices along with an enjoyable and manageable exercise program often yields greater results than an extreme and objectionable course of action. Walking can provide you with an excellent source of exercise that will put you in a happy mood and help you to lose weight fast.

The benefits of walking are numerous. First of all, many people who are overweight or obese struggle with the physical exertion associate with running. Running is extremely hard on joints such as knees and ankles. It is also very challenging on a cardiovascular level. Many people who are just starting out with exercise and physical activity are not healthy enough to start off running. Walking provides many of the same benefits as running without some of the negatives. Walking definitely burns calories, but it is easier on your joints because there is less of an extreme impact when your legs touch the ground than when running. Also, though much less demanding, walking still improves your cardiovascular health by increasing your heart rate and breathing on a smaller, less extreme scale than running.

Walking can also improve your overall mood, which can help when losing weight. Walking produces endorphins in the brain which naturally elevate your mood. Since many people who struggle with weight are emotional eaters, and tend to make poor food choices when they are stressed or upset, having a happy mood can greatly increase your ability to lose weight fast. Being in a happy mood can help a dieter to lose more weight, and be more pleased with their overall progress, making them more likely to continue losing weight instead of giving up like so many do when they are upset or disappointed.

Walking is also something that can be done regularly without many limitations. Walking outside in the warm weather months can provide the walker with fresh air and sunshine. If bad weather prevents you from venturing outside, malls, schools, and universities can provide excellent substitutes while keeping you warm and dry.

Walking provides many benefits and is an enjoyable way to help anyone lose weight fast.

Nutrition And Your Weight Loss

Most people these days are trying to practice healthy habits. One thing people find difficult is knowing the steps to creating a nutritious diet. If you are one of the many people unsure of what foods are included in a healthy, nutritional diet, this article should enable you to gain the knowledge to be confident in your food selections.

The main reasons why so many people quit working on their fitness goals is because they are not determined enough, or they do not know how to go about doing it properly. There are a lot of ways that you can make exercise more enjoyable. Here are some ideas you will want to try.

Tip 1

Do not buy sauces that you can easily make at home. Most people make the mistake of stocking up on pasta sauces for ease of use. However, they are riddled with salt, sugar and preservatives and don't taste that great at all. You can save money and improve the taste of your sauces by making them all from scratch. It is a lot easier than you think and at least you will know exactly what is going into them.

Tip 2

You should consider having expanding your diet to include unpasteurized dairy products. The process of pasteurization is relatively new in human history. Sometimes there can be risks with unpasteurized dairy products, however, the good aspects of them by far outweigh potential risks if you are in good health.

Tip 3

In order to consume the right amount of vitamins, minerals, fruits and vegetables you need daily, you should invest in a juicer for your home. Fruit juice tastes great, but veggies can add an extra flavorful kick. Try adding ginger to a blend of carrot apple juice to gift it a lift. Don't be afraid of a little jalapeno if you want some extra flavor in your drink.

Tip 4

Find a knowledgeable individual who can give you advice about nutrition. Your primary care physician is a good resource for you. Your doctor will be able to give you the right advice and tools for better nutrition.

Tip 5

A baked potato is a great dining out option in lieu of french fries. Because of the deep frying process, fries have an excessive amount of fat. On average, they also have too much salt. There are many adequately healthy and nutritional toppings for baked potatoes that are low in fat. It makes for a healthy side dish that can really curb your hunger.

Tip 6

Put a strict limit on the amount of sugar you child takes in every day. Diabetes is becoming common even in children. By planning ahead, parents can provide a healthy diet for their children, no matter how busy they are.

Tip 7

One tip for eating at restaurants is to ask for sauces, dressings, and condiments to be on the side. Lots of dressings contain unneeded fat and unhealthy preservatives. Choosing an oil and vinegar option is better for you and your health.

It's a fact that, if particular foods don't appeal to our taste buds, we simply won't ingest them. While taste is important, you should also select your food based on how good it is for you. It is never too late to start eating healthier foods, and these tips can help you get on the right track. There are many more things that you should be doing in order to change the way you think about food and your diet.

Lose Weight With Active Calorie Foods

ByTeresa Opara

Losing weight requires a lot of hard work and dedication for most people. Many individuals give up on diets because they feel hungry most of the time and are typically required to give up their favorite foods. Making lifestyle changes can help with the battle of weight loss and management. While counting calories is just one step to weight loss, choosing the type of calories is another excellent way to lose weight fast and keep it off.

Active calories help to increase the metabolism by requiring more energy to digest. This is good news for people who love to eat and enjoy eating foods that are full of flavor. Since active calorie foods take the body longer to digest, the body burns more calories and helps it stay full for a longer period of time. Combined with exercise, individuals who follow an active calorie diet can eat a variety of foods often and still lose weight fast. Even desserts can contain active calories so they can be eaten without any of the guilt. Actually you can enjoy them very much.

An active calorie diet should include an abundant amount of low-fat protein foods such as eggs, dairy products and lean meats. The leanest part of poultry is generally the white meat derived from the breast without the skin. Ground beef should be labeled as containing 90 percent or higher of lean meat. Leaner pork choices include tenderloin or loin chops. Dairy, such as milk and cheese, can be consumed often but should be purchased and consumed in the low-fat versions.

Foods rich in fiber should also be consumed regularly while following an active calorie diet. Fruits and vegetables are an excellent source of fiber as well as whole wheat breads and beans. In addition, adding spices to a diet can help to burn a few extra calories due to a composite called capsaicin. Hot sauce and crushed peppers can be added to many dishes but for those who cannot tolerate heat, spices such as cinnamon and garlic can be used as well.

Many of the processed foods contain non-active calories which can have a devastating effect on metabolism. They are easily digested and the body will most likely store them as fat. Foods in this category include highly processed meats such as packaged lunch meats and hot dogs, cookies, pastries, sodas and chips.

If you must eat processed food or fast food choose it wisely.

Proven Nutrition Advice To Listen To If You Want To Slim Down

The prospect of learning about nutrition may be daunting. Thanks to this article, you now have additional knowledge about nutrition. You can now change your current diet plan and live a healthier life.

Try to choose whole wheat options anytime you eat grains. If you do this, you will be eating more nutrients per calorie. These foods promote healthy digestion and excellent nutritional value for your diet.

One great, healthy snack option is the old standby, peanut butter. As delicious as it is versatile, you can pair it with apples, bananas, celery, and whole-grain breads and crackers. To increase your intake of protein, which benefits your hair, skin, and other bodily features and functions, try adding some peanut butter to hot cereals, cookies, cakes, and smoothie drinks.

One of the best things you can do is eat plenty of fiber. Foods that are high in fiber, such as vegetables, fruits, brown rice and whole-grain pastas, cereals and breads. If necessary, a fiber supplement can help you reach the 20-25 grams you are supposed to get every day. These supplements are available in tablets, capsules or powder.

You can get a natural mood booster from healthy foods like wheat grains and pasta, a banana or even a baked potato. These foods also contain a lot of fiber; that will keep you fuller longer. There is always a crash associated with any sugary foods. You will be healthier and lose weight if you eliminate junk food, and focus on eating healthy food.

When you are going out to eat dinner, consider substituting a baked potato instead of having greasy french fries. Because of the deep frying process, fries have an excessive amount of fat. On average, they also have too much salt. Instead of topping your baked potato with butter, sour cream and bacon bits, try healthier toppings, such as salsa, broccoli and low-fat cheese. It's a healthy side order alternative that can really make you feel full.

Research has proven that oat bran can lower your cholesterol levels. The fiber in oat bran is water-soluble and, when eaten with certain other foods, will lower cholesterol.

Whenever you use supplements, make sure you are careful. Since vitamins and minerals work in concert, a large dose of one can create an imbalance in the level of another. Some supplements, such as B vitamins, are not meant to be taken in mega doses. With that said, unless your doctor tells you to do so, it is safe to just take one multivitamin each day to ensure the right balance.

With the nutrition information in this article, you should be well on your way to living a healthy life. While this article is a great start, there's a lot more that you need to know about nutrition and dieting in general to really have an impact.

Cottage Cheese Thighs

ByZack R Lanzas

- how do you get rid of them? How do you get firm thighs and a tight bottom? Chances are when you were you didn't have - so where did they come from and more importantly how can you get rid of them?

The cottage cheese thigh effect is caused by cellulite - some people think that cellulite is just fat - this is partially correct but also partially totally incorrect - fat by itself does not cause the dimpled cottage cheese effect that cellulite does - so how do you get rid of it?

How to Reduce Cellulite on the Legs

The legs and thighs are a very common problem area for women who suffer from cellulite. The hips, thighs, and butt are often the target of cellulite for up to 90% of all women. So how do you get rid of celluite, and fast!

Firstly you should know that there are no "toxins" in cellulite. There are no circulation problems, no excess water storage, nothing. Cellulite is exactly the same as any other fat in your body. The bumpy appearance is due to the soft fat bulging through the connective tissue under the skin. Since women have thinner skin on the legs and butt, it becomes even more noticeable. The cellulite treatment creams that many women blow their hard earned money on are not effective at solving this problem. The function of any cellulite product is to cause swelling in the skin, which temporarily tightens the area and makes the cottage cheese appearance less noticeable for a short time. They can't really do anything to reduce cellulite.

Obviously, this is not a practical way to reduce cellulite on the legs. As soon as you stop using the product, you're right back where you started, but with less money in your pocket. To actually reduce cellulite you need to target the root causes, rather than the symptoms. The main causes of cellulite tend to be hormone overproduction, the wrong foods, and a lack of certain types of exercise. These causes are often related to each other and magnify your cellulite.
To combat these root causes, a highly targeted cellulite treatment such as CELLUBLAST, exercise and some simple dietary changes can do wonders. If done correctly, you can tighten and tone the muscle and skin around the cellulite, and reduce harmful hormones. This is best achieved with a specific program designed for women with this problem. An effective program combined with Cellublast will put your body in a cellulite fighting state, and can reduce cellulite visibly in just a few weeks. No strenuous cardio required.

Squats are a good compound exercise that work several large muscles in the legs and butt. Resistance exercises like these have shown to control problem hormones and also increase the release of human growth hormone. When used in combination with some cellulite fighting dietary replacements, you can see very noticeable results quickly. By putting your body in a cellulite fighting state, you're rebuilding collagen, tightening your skin, and toning your muscles. Do yourself a favour and put down the cellulite cream. This is the only proven way to reduce cellulite for good, rather than just covering it up.

How To Lose Weight Effectively

As people get older, fitness becomes secondary. Pressures related to your job, your spouse, or even your kids tend to take time away from working out. If the state of your body is making you depressed, following these simple fitness tips. You can get into the same shape you were in when you were younger. Older people tend to stop focusing on their fitness. Every day, life pressures have the opportunity to overshadow working out. If you want to improve your fitness levels and reclaim your body, have a read of the following tips. These tips will make you feel as fit as when you were a teenager.

It's vital to start exercising an injured muscle right away, even though it might be painful at first. If you rest the muscle injury too long, your other muscles begin to tighten up. It's not necessary to do intense exercise. Try using an ice pack on the sore area when you are finished, make sure until then that you don't overwork it. Exercise a muscle injury soon, even if it is painful. However, you need to do gentle and careful exercise during this period. If you fail to do this, your other muscles have a greater chance of tightening up. This does not mean that you should participate in intense exercises. Take it easy, and as soon as you are done participating in any physical activity, ice the injured area.

When you go climbing, make sure to use shoes specifically designed for this sport. Climbing shoes need especially good traction in order to facilitate the climbing itself as well as reduce the probability of falling. Normal shoes are designed for the common horizontal motions of walking and running, while climbing shoes are designed for the vertical motion of climbing. When you are climbing be sure to use the right shoes. The better your shoe is designed with regard to traction and flexibility, the easier your climb will be. Traction is important when you're getting vertical, much more so than when you are walking horizontally.

If you start with smaller weights, you can build up your strength. You will be using as much force as you do when you lift weights that are heavier, but you will be working out at a slower pace. This is a great technique to use when doing bench presses. Reduce the weight you generally lift by 40 percent to 60 percent, and strive to complete eight sets consisting of 12 repetitions. Make sure to raise the weight quickly throughout the process. It is important to include a 30 second rest period between each set. You do not need to use tremendously heavy weights to achieve results.

Lighter weights help you to move quickly, but still apply adequate force to your muscles. This approach can be used for all strength-building weightlifting including bench presses. You want to double the sets and repetitions when using lighter weights on the bench-press. Do eight to twelve reps, pushing the weights quickly, and lower your max weight by 50 percent. Remember to pause for a half a minute or so after each set.

After becoming familiar with the movements, try to decrease your overall workout time by ten percent. If you concentrate on working out at an intense pace for a short duration of time, you will be forcing your muscles to work even harder. Your stamina will also improve. Compact your one-hour leg workout into a 54-minute time frame, for example. To move your workout goals to the next level, try to finish your normal routine in only 90 percent of your usual time. If you exercise in short, intense bursts, your muscles have to work much harder than they would otherwise. Not only are your muscles getting a good workout, you are also improving your stamina. As an example, if you regularly perform a half hour set, then challenge yourself by trying to do it in 27 minutes.

Strengthening your hamstrings will allow you to sprint faster. The hamstring muscles are of upmost importance for a strong push off and top speed. A great exercise that you can do in order to get strong hamstrings are leg curls. Try to release the weight slowly in order to get maximum workout for your hamstrings. By having strong hamstrings you will be able to sprint faster. Concentrate on working the build up of your hamstrings to increase your sprint speed. They are used heavily to get a great start and contribute to your total speed. You can get strong hamstrings by doing leg curls; just release the curl slowly for best results. This is almost a guarantee to improve your sprint time.

Your activity levels during your typical workday can play a large role in determining your optimal fitness program. Activity levels are especially important during the early parts of a fitness program. If you walk a lot and then have to stand at work all day, you may regret the walk when your feet start complaining. On the contrary, walking can be an effective way to get your activity level up if you're accustomed to more sedentary tasks such as sitting behind a desk for the majority of the day.

When designing a fitness regimen, it is important to take into account the things that you do at work. This is vital at the beginning of your work out plan. Walking is easy for you to do if you are used to moving around at work, but walking a few miles extra after work could really hurt your feet. If your job has you sitting down, however, find time to take a walk and be active.

Healthy Eating Means Healthy Snacking

ByMichael Ron

Snacks are an important part of a healthy diet. Snacks can help you fight hunger between meals and help you get your daily servings of fruit, vegetables and fiber. You should be having a serving of fruit or vegetables with every snack. Add a low calorie serving of protein with your snack and you have a balanced snack that will actually help you meet your daily nutritional goals.

Snacks should be between 100 and 250 calories depending on your individual calorie needs. You should ideally be eating a snack in the afternoon and possibly one after dinner. If you eat dinner this is especially important because it can be a long time between dinner and breakfast. You should avoid overly fatty foods, sugary foods and caffeine. Some carbohydrates can help you sleep. If you are looking for a nighttime snack that will help you catch your zzz's then try popcorn and cherries. Both of these foods have the right kind of carbohydrates to help you get a restful night of sleep.

Snacks should normally be composed of a serving of protein and a serving of carbohydrates. Ideally the carbohydrates should be from fruits and vegetables. Try carrots and hummus or celery and cream cheese. Other ideas are a tomato hollowed out with cottage cheese inside, an apple and string cheese or a yogurt and 1/2oz-1oz of nuts. Raw nuts are your best choice and you should avoid nuts that are cooked in oil with salt or candied nuts.

If baked goods are your thing, there are several snacks you can make yourself and improve the overall nutrition value of the goodies. In recipes that call for butter, margarine or lard substitute sugar-free applesauce. If the recipe is chocolate use prune baby food instead of butter margarine or lard and you will never know the difference (neither will friends nor family). Another great way to make baked goods that are lower in calories and fat is to make diet soda cake or cupcakes. For this all you do is mix a can of diet soda into a box of cake mix and bake away. Use diet lemon lime or soda for fruity cakes and regular diet cola for chocolate cakes.

For an extra indulgent snack or for a birthday party serve your diet soda cake or cupcakes with frozen yogurt. Frozen yogurt is a tasty alternative to ice cream. It has a flavor and texture that can rival any ice cream. You can indulge without completely ruining your diet goals. Frozen yogurt comes in a wide variety of flavors and can also be mixed with fruit for a delicious and nutrition packed smoothie. This is one way to get a delicious frozen treat and get an extra serving or two of fruit into your diet. Just keep the ingredients simple and do not add any additional sugar.

Keep in mind that baked goods and frozen yogurt are treats. They are better treats for your body then the chemical filled packs of treats advertised as having a hundred calories, but they are all treats. You should limit having treats for snacks to a couple of times per week and try to have these treats on days that you exercise.

The best snacks are the ones that add to your day nutritionally and help you stay within your dietary goals. You want a balance of protein, carbohydrates and vitamins to keep your body going all day long. It is great to indulge every once in a while in a healthier version of your favorite treats, such as frozen yogurt or lower calorie baked goods.

Swirls and Twirls was created to help you indulge your sweet tooth and your creative nature all in one spot. Energy Balance - Lose Weight and Achieve Desired Body Shape Permanently (5)

When you are trying to lose weight most diets tell you to avoid certain foods or not to eat before or after certain hours of the clock. These claims are total nonsense.

You can eat whatever you like and eat it whenever you like. If you wake in the middle of the night and want to eat something, then go ahead and eat something and we assure you that as long as you keep your energy balance in check then you will lose weight and achieve your desired body shape on a permanent basis.

When you really want to eat chocolate, or a cake or biscuit, or whatever your own particular weakness, then go ahead and eat it. Enjoy it, revel in it, taste every single molecule of that food and you will have greater long term diet success than if you deprive yourself of your favourite treat and go around feeling miserable all day.

What is important is that you keep your energy balance at the correct levels over any given time period. The formula below explains Energy Balance in simple terms.

(Energy (calories) In) minus (Energy (calories) Out)

What You Should Do To Shed Those Extra Pounds

If you are sick of being unhealthy, try these tips. They will give you the information you need to get into the best shape of your life.

You need to start working out injuries as soon as the doctor says so. You tighten other muscles when you don't exercise a muscle injury. It is unnecessary and even dangerous to do intense exercise while you are in pain. Try using an ice pack on the sore area when you are finished, make sure until then that you don't overwork it. Try stretching sore muscles and only exercise lightly during an injury. This also helps the other muscles stay loose. Make your first exercises gentle and with low impact on the injured area. It's also important to make your movements slow. Small ice packs can be applied when you are finished.

If you are looking for a full body exercise, swimming is a great choice. Your arms benefit from the strokes you take to propel you forward. Swimming also gives you legs a great workout as you kick them to move forward and also to keep your body balanced in the water. While swimming, you are also using your core to help your breathing and balance. For a full body workout try swimming. You get a good arm workout when you propel your arms forward. When you kick your legs in water, it helps balance your body. The demands swimming puts on your sense of balance and respiration even provide exercise for your core.

Try loading up your weights about 25% more than you usually would. You then simply lift the weight without doing the exercise for a short amount of time. After you do your max weight, the weights will seem lighter and more manageable. If you're trying to improve your max lift for an exercise, try putting on 20-30% more weight than you can currently do. Hold your weight for a few seconds right off the rack. Then when you do the actual max lifting, it will seem lighter.

One way to lose weight is to swim. This exercise helps you burn a high number of calories, gain lean muscle tissue and have better cardiovascular stamina, without being hard on your joints. Pools can be found just about anywhere. Most local gyms have pools that are strictly for exercising. Pools can also be found in your community. Community pools usually have a lane or two set aside for people that wish to swim laps for exercise. Working out by swimming is a fantastic way to stay in peak physical condition. When you swim you burn calories, build muscle and increase endurance! It is low impact as well. Try checking with your local gym to see if they have pool facilities. If not, check your local yellow pages to find public pools in your community.

Exercise At Work

Rather than being motionless at your work desk all day, it would be a good idea to implement a few stretching exercises. Try to refrain from sitting in the same position for hours upon end as it is detrimental for your body in the long run. Stand up each hour and stretch your legs for a few minutes in order to get your circulation flowing and to prevent cramping. Everyone can squeeze in a few stretches even while working at a desk. Sitting for long periods isn't good for you, as it can impair circulation and increase the risk of blood clots. Try to stand up and do some stretches every hour or so. Doing this will enable your blood to circulate properly and reduce the risk of developing muscle cramps.

Your Diet

Exercise is only one part of the strategy. You will also need to be aware of what you eat. The 17 Day Diet is one such diet, there are literally hundreds out there. Reviews of the 17 Day Diet explain it better. You should always read user experiences of all diets and search for feedback online before you think about trying it. There are some diets that can do your body harm and are not advisable to try, so be careful in your choices.

One great tip for nutrition purposes is to cut out the fatty and sugary condiments, opting instead for healthy choices. If you use substitutions which are more nutritious and lower in fat and sugar, like almond butter instead of peanut butter on toast, you'll be able to control what goes into your body, while still enjoying the taste of your food.

Do not allow the hype concerning low-carb diets to enter into your mind; instead, focus on proper nutrition and a balanced diet. Certain carbs are actually good for your nutrition and overall health. So it's not as simple as "all carbs are bad"; it's about moderation. Carbs will make your body feel full, and they will prevent you from eating too much.

Conclusion

Getting in shape does not have to be difficult if you follow these tips. Spend some time working on yourself and do the work it takes to get into shape. These will serve you not only in fitness, but in life. You can be successful with your fitness plans and goals, just as you are in your daily life as a parent, employee or spouse. So keep a positive outlook and get started.

Emotions Underlie Your Eating Behaviors

In my work as a Certified Mind-Body Nutrition Coach, the one aspect I see consistently amongst my clients is how their emotions impact their eating, and yet most times they are completely oblivious to it until I point it out to them.

When people approach me about working together, they almost always cite their lack of exercise and overeating as the reasons why they're overweight, and it never ceases to amaze me how naïve they are about why they're doing what they're doing, or not doing.

Figuring out your core emotional drivers to your eating patterns and behaviors is absolutely essential to losing weight, and losing it for good. Without knowing how your brain is currently programmed or how to reprogram it will keep you stuck in the loop you're in forever. Here is the pattern I used to repeatedly sink into that might be familiar to you too:

1. Find a new diet and become convinced that this time was different!

2. Plan a day to begin, and charge out of the gate with intense drive and renewed enthusiasm (but refuse to tell anyone in case I fail).

3. Do GREAT for a week! Maybe two. Three at the most.

4. Crave chocolate.

5. Deny chocolate.

6. Pretend I was happy, knowing I was doing the right thing.

7. Crave more chocolate.

8. Restrict and look away.

9. Develop a complex about myself and my inability to control my cravings.

10. Feel miserable.

11. Continue to crave chocolate.

12. Justify reasons why it made sense to eat it.

13. Eek out the few remaining drops of willpower I could muster and deny myself once more.

14. GIVE IN!

BREAKING NEWS: Less than 1% of the population loses weight permanently by cutting calories, over-exercising, and having more willpower. 'Nuff said.

(FYI even if they do, it doesn't last long because none of their subconscious programming has been reprogrammed in order to prevent the behaviors that made them gain weight in the first place.)

My weight issues stemmed from the fact that I was using my weight to protect myself, not because I couldn't control myself around food. No matter how much willpower I had, my subconscious mind won out every time because I was programmed to believe that being at my ideal weight wasn't safe, so every time I lost weight, I gained it right back, usually within 1-3 months.

No amount of Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers was ever going to fix that. I had to work on my subconscious programming first, which is where all learning and change takes place, so that my new habits became my new subconscious.

For example, it was easy for me to down an entire box of Girl Scout cookies in one sitting, or a chocolate pie, or a pint of ice cream, because to my mind, the more weight I had on me, the safer I was from unwanted advances. I developed this belief as a teenager, and carried it with me well into my 40's, until I realized I was doing it.

Once I did, I was able to change it, and now my mind understands that I can use my mind instead of my body to protect myself. I don't need fat to tell someone that I don't want to date them, or that I'm afraid to get close to them because they might hurt me, or that I'd rather be alone because I feel like a loser and I don't want them to know it. I use my intellect instead to keep people away that I choose not to interact with for whatever reason.

Your mind is so powerful. It fills you with all kinds of unnecessary fear, which prevents you from getting the very things you want in life because of a limited belief system that was imprinted on you as a kid (based on other people's fears) that still dictates the decisions you make today. One of my clients, Myrna, is a classic example of how this works. Until we started working together, she was in a reactive pattern with her mom when it came to food and she didn't know it.

When she was a child, her mother was very restrictive with her and food, all in an effort to protect her, but it deprived Myrna of all the foods she longed for. Later on, as an adult, she unconsciously decided to rebel against her mother by eating anything she wanted, whenever she wanted, and wound up 60 pounds overweight.

Ultimately, the pattern she was in only ended up hurting Myrna and kept her from what she wanted more than anything in life, which was to settle down, get married and have kids, because she had no confidence dating. Her resentment toward her mom was what I call her Take Away Emotion, in that it took her away from her desires, and harmed her health and self-image at the same time.

In helping Myrna reprogram this pathway in her mind, she was easily able to let go of eating behaviors that weren't serving her and in the process, drop the weight that was preventing her from having the confidence to get back in the dating world so that she could ultimately find the right man to marry.

Which she did, and lived happily ever after.

Every action begins with an emotion, including how and when you eat and why. If you overeat, there is an emotion and a chain of behaviors that lead you to overeat. In order to change your eating strategy you need to understand the emotion that triggers that strategy. Otherwise, you'll never access that part of you that needs changing in order to manifest your goal weight for good.

To help clients do this, I offer a 1:1 Emotional Discovery Session that's specifically designed to target your core emotional drivers and bring awareness to what's behind your eating behaviors so that you can shift out of your negative patterns in a jiffy and get weight to start moving without 3 mile runs or 500-calorie diets. In other words, no more struggle.

Three Effective Fast Weight Loss Tips

There are different reasons why people want to lose weight as quickly as possible. Brides-to-be might want to get in shape before their wedding day. New mothers might want to shed the extra pounds they had gained during their pregnancy. Some might want to lose weight before summer so that they can sport the latest beach wear. So, people have their own reasons for wanting to shed weight in a hurry. Here are a few effective fast weight loss tips to help you lose weight quickly.

Fast Weight Loss Through Exercise

The calories present in your food are normally stored in your body and used as fuel for various activities. If you do not have an active lifestyle, your body would not burn all the calories and much of it would be stored in the body as fat, adding to your weight. There are certain exercises that can help you burn calories and fat much more effectively than others. You need to follow an exercise routine that is appropriate for your body type and health condition. After consulting your doctor, join an exercise program that will help you lose weight quickly by burning up excess fat.

Fast Weight Loss Through A Proper Diet

Most often, people follow a diet that feeds their body with more calories than they can burn during their daily routine. If the calorie input always exceeds the energy output, the body will start to accumulate weight. The best way to lose weight is to eat a balanced and healthy diet that provides the body with the exact amount of nourishment that it needs. Consult a dietician who will prescribe a diet based on your metabolic rate and your body constitution. They will tell you what to eat and how much to eat, based on your food preferences and taste.

Fast Weight Loss Through Effective Mind Control

Most people fail to recognize the role of the mind and its influence on their weight. Although a person's weight is controlled by their diet and their lifestyle, it is their mind that decides what they eat, when they eat, and how much they eat, and how they live. People who have tried to lose weight and failed many times would already know that the mind plays a large role in their battle against their craving for food. Therefore, people need to learn effective mind control techniques to discipline their mind to follow an exercise and diet regimen to help them reach their desired goal.

When people follow these 3 effective fast weight loss tips, they can win their battle against their weight problem.

Cheap Ways To Lose Weight - Here Is the Most Important One!

ByIman Dau

Are you looking for cheap ways to lose weight? I'll let you in on the cheapest yet a profound secret to weight loss. It is a concept that I'll try to make you understand. This concept is called calorie deficit. This is solely the thing that makes you lose weight. The moment you grasp this concept, you will understand exactly what you need to do.

So what is calorie deficit? In simple words, it indicates a deficit that is created in your body when you burn more calories than you ingest through food. So for example, you take in 2000 calories a day, and with exercise suppose you burn 2500 calories a day. Your body will have a deficit of 500 calories. That means along with the burning of those calories that you took in from food, you are going to burn up an additional 500 calories through the fat that was ALREADY stored in your body..This is how you lose weight.

Now most of the people focus on creating that deficit, which is great. In fact, that is what you are supposed to do. But if the method that you are taking to achieve this deficit is by starving yourself, then you are doing your body no good. The same deficit can be made just by eating the right things. Eat all the food that gives you nutrients, like fruits, vegetables, lean meat, carbohydrates etc. Cut out junk food. Eat the right thing. Don't overeat, because your stomach is not too big. It does not need a lot of food to make it full, so eat only till you are full.

Another way of creating this deficit is through working out. Doing cardiovascular exercises 4-5 times a week helps a lot in burning those calories. If you do not want to cut back on calories, you could create that deficit through this way. While doing your Cardio, alternate between high and low intensity workout. This intensity fluctuations will shock your body and increase it's metabolism, thus helping you burn more calories. There are so many cardio exercises that you can do. Be it running, swimming, tennis, dancing, racquetball, and even jumping jack is excellent. Switch between a variety of these before you get bored.

To make the most out of this calorie deficit, take up both a healthy meal and a healthy exercise routine. You will see results in no time. Remember, you do not need a lot of fancy equipments, a lot of fancy clothes or a year long subscription to the gym to lose weight. Nothing of that will help you if you don't UTILIZE it. The reality is that people get all excited for the first few days and then give up because they see no result. Believe me, you will see results if you do it enough.

The working of the body is a science. If you master it, you will always be able to find a way put of trouble. But all of them require works. Those products that tell you that you can eat whatever you want and still lose weight without even exercising, are lying. Don't fall for them. Don't look for an easy way out because there isn't any. There are a lot of pills and shakes out there that tell you how it's like a magic potion. The only healthy magic potion I know of is water. Yes water; it is as simple as that. It is easily accessible yet people drink sodas instead of water. And they wonder why there joints hurt, and why there kidneys don't work properly, or why there teeth looks unhealthy.

Remember awareness is the key. Be aware of everything you put in your body, because you are the only one who can control what goes in. Once you understand what is good for you and what is not, then you will be able to make an educated decision as to what to eat.

For the next two weeks, don't think. Just do it! You have nothing to lose. The more you think, the more explanations you are going to come up for not doing it. It is hard work but it pays off. I promise:

Also, I say this in every article of mine. It is because I mean it. Don't just sit there reading: ways to lose weight. Act on it, apply it, and make it work, or you would not see ANY result. Motivate yourself. if you are tired of how weak your body has become, if you are tired of battling that high cholesterol level, do something about it. Remember, ideas alone don't bring change. It needs action as well. So let's go and work towards making a lighter and healthy us.

Mindful Eating - Best Learning Methods and Resources

ByDoug Hanvey

For many people who struggle with food and body weight, the simple solution may be learning to eat mindfully. For others, mindful eating may be one part of a multifaceted solution.

The benefits of mindful eating have been increasingly researched over the past 15 years, and the benefits of mindfulness meditation researched for twice that long. One syndrome that has been closely researched is binge eating disorder. Thus far, studies suggest that mindful eating can substantially reduce bingeing behaviors.

Eating mindfully also helps people to resolve food cravings. How? By helping to disrupt the (usually unconscious) link between one's eating urges and the resulting behaviors.

Mindfulness can also reduce emotional eating behaviors, because mindfulness has been well-demonstrated to improve mood states and to reduce stress generally. Mindfulness has even been shown to increase activity in the parts of the brain that are associated with happiness and optimism!

The practice can also help those who struggle with obesity. For example, the results of a 2009 study reported that "in those who applied the principles and practices of mindfulness consistently, there were greater increases in physical activity and significantly greater reductions in Body Mass Index."

ByVasudha Badri-Paul

Homeopathy Combination Remedies and Weight Loss

Let's face it. Weight loss is a difficult problem. It is not too easy to lose weight or keep it off. The problem is compounded by the bewildering products and gimmicks out there that promote and promise weight loss. However, these products often fail short of their promise, and one feels the added frustration of wasted effort and money.

Often it is a vicious circle. I have friends who seem to lose weight on a new fad diet, only to regain most of it, if not some more bonus poundage, after a few months. It is usually the sensible individual who loses weight over time, with modifications in lifestyle and eating habits, and seems to maintain the loss of body mass.

Now, let us see how homeopathic remedies can help the individual lose weight.

Homeopathy has been used for centuries to help heal the body of various ailments. The products are made from natural ingredients and herbs. Homeopathy works with the body to restore it to optimal health. Health often includes maintaining a normal range of body weight.

(Note: You should work with your physician to address any health issues before you embark on a serious weight loss program.)

How does Homeopathy Aid Weight Loss?

Homeopathy is not a gimmick. The products do not promise weight loss used alone. A diet that includes healthy foods and an exercise program is of utmost importance. You are training your body to lose weight, gain healthy habits, and keep unwanted pounds away. The way of homeopathic remedies is to decrease food cravings and increase the body metabolism. So, it is an aid to weight loss, your friend that helps you along the way to a better body and often, a better life.

Homeopathy combination remedies are available in a bottle with a dropper and simple to take. The active ingredients are dissolved in a base of alcohol. The patient takes the remedy in the form of 10-15 drops of the liquid placed under the tongue. It is recommended that the remedy is taken between meals and used 3-4 times every day.

There are no side-effects to speak of and the products are very easy to take.

Don't expect miracles overnight but you should see results in 2-3 months. Make sure you are eating more vegetables and fruits, drinking quality water, and exercising - 1/2 hour per day.

Hopefully, the New Year will also see a New, Slimmer, You.

Losing Weight Via The Law Of Attraction

The Law of Attraction has become a very powerful concept especially to people who want to achieve their goals. Some have used it to achieve financial goals. There are others who have used it to have a positive attitude in life. Some even used the Law of Attraction to be able to achieve their goal of finding the love of their life. There are also those who have used it for personal developments, including weight loss.

The law of attraction for weight loss is a driving force for people to achieve their ideal weight. The secret here is to believe. If you think of it, you can achieve it. It shows how powerful the brain is and the more you think of it, the more driven you are to achieve it. Therefore, you should have a strong mindset towards your goals. If you commit your mind into your dream weight, your actions will manifest them. And you would be sailing towards that weight that you are aiming.

The law of attraction for weight loss also entails visualization. This is how you perceive yourself once you achieve your goal and how it may possibly change your life. When you visualize, you analyze the foreseeable future and how you, your friends and your family might react to the changes that has happened to you. When you see this future with clarity, you are coming closer to your goals.

Once you have your visualization about the future and you think you will be happy with the results, then you should start planning. You should think of concrete and specific steps for your goal to come to life. Thinking about your goal is one thing - doing steps to achieve it is another.

You have to ask yourself - Do you have to change your lifestyle? Perhaps you have to get more sleep, and cut down on carbs or have regular gym visits. Check with yourself carefully regarding your weight issues and ask yourself how you plan to address them.

After planning, the law of attraction for weight loss will tell you to manifest your plans into action. You cannot just sit there and think about restocking your refrigerator all day. You should get up and hit the supermarket. Buy the foods that will help you lose weight.

After that, you could go visit your nearest gym to enroll or renew your membership. It would also help if you put it in your schedule until going to the gym becomes not just a necessity, but a routine you love doing. Sometimes, it is hard to take that first step. However, once that first step has been done, the next step and the following steps will be easier.

The law of attraction to achieve weight loss is a good start for you if you do not have anywhere to start with. You will have to begin by thinking about what kind of person you would be if you lost some weight. It will also help if you put yourself into a thin person's shoes. You will become more conscious of what you eat, what you drink and what you after you do this.

Your Free Weight Loss Tips Report awaits you while you learn more about law of attraction weight loss.
