Path To Losing Weight

Here we go again, we silently commit to ourselves that today is the day we are going to start that new diet everyone's been raving about. Hey your coworker claims to have lost 10 pounds in just a couple of weeks! So if you could just jump-start your weight loss at least in a week it would definitely speed up the results, right?

Wrong, very wrong. In fact if you are the type to try to (fail) going from one yo-yo diet extreme to another you are actually drifting farther away from a long-term healthy weight goal. That's the keyword here in this article, healthy. Just choosing more healthy options a day versus your habitual eating wants is actually the "jump-start" necessary to see fast results. For example if you consume 3 sodas a day simply cut it down to one, and try diet, or if you like to eat fast food learn how to cook it the "slow food" way. Is it too much to walk 20 minutes a day or any activity that will increase your heart rate for 20 minutes a day three times a week? Does it surprise you do this already?

First, be kind to yourself, turn away from society's idea of what beautiful is and look inside yourself and realize you are a unique beautiful human being who deserves to be healthy. Second, it is highly recommended to visit your general physician and talk to them about your weight loss plan and goals, it is a good idea to do some general blood work done to make sure you do not have any health risks or exercise limitations. You may also discover why you are not able to keep the weight off, or lack motivation to exercise due to a health condition like abnormal thyroid levels or suffer from anemia. Unknown conditions like these can limit your ultimate weight loss goal and result in you feeling like you failed once again, yet with the underlying conditions at play it was not your lack of trying.

Another key to long-term weight loss success is finding long-term motivation. Okay so you crashed dieted your way into a size 8, now what? If you go off track of the "diet" you will gain the weight back as well as a possible extra 5 pounds on top. How? Well most crash diets tend to draw out the water weight first, showing you results both on the scale and in your waist line although when you stop the method of the crash diet, the first thing to return is the water weight and a little extra due to an ill choice of food.

If you start out by cutting calories, sodium, and sugar you will see the water weight disappear maybe not as fast and you will feel really irritable, and that is quite alright, but the results of the lost weight will stay "lost" as well as boosting your metabolism and mood.

Jump start weight loss

For the love of food and writing.

How Safe Is Rapid Fat Loss?

So you want to lose fat? And obviously, you want to do it in the shortest time possible! But how safe is it to lose fat quickly, and what can be done to make the process safer?

First of all, rapid fat loss is where you're losing more than 3lbs of fat per week. 1-2lbs is a safe amount and that's the normal goal for most people that are on a diet. So this only applies if you're trying to shift the pounds a little more quickly than the average person.

Secondly - you need to look at how you're doing it. Is it:
a.) A starvation diet (like a "Master Cleanse" style water/cayenne pepper fast)?
b.) A very low calorie diet (like the popular Protein Sparing Modified Fast)?
c.) Driven by the latest and greatest Fat Loss Pill?

Because all three of these things are offered to the general population through internet marketing sites, but 2 out of three are outright dangerous. Let's take a deeper look.

The Dangers of Rapid Fat Loss Diets
The main danger with option c.) is that you probably won't know what it is you're taking. Most of the pills and potions offered on the internet aren't FDA approved, they don't have scientific trials behind them and there's no guarantee that they'll do what they say on the tin. At best, you'll find that you're paying for something with no effects whatsoever. At worst, you might be consuming something downright dangerous. If you're ever looking to lose weight fast then make sure you never ever do it using pills. The only thing you should consume to keep your metabolism high on a rapid fat loss diet is caffeine, and you should probably be careful with that.

The danger with option a.) is that you're not consuming enough protein, and you're certainly not consuming enough vitamins and minerals. This kind of diet is crazy low in calories, and if you can force yourself to go through with it you'll end up with:
- muscle atrophy (wastage)
- protein lost from internal organs (can cause organ failure if you go too long)
- kidney damage
- diarrhea
- dizziness
- lethargy

As well as other issues related to low blood electrolyte levels (dehydration) and tiredness.

This sort of diet also does not teach a very good long term relationship with food - and the big danger is that as soon as the "cleanse" is over, the dieter will go back to drinking soda, eating pizza and getting fat - reversing all of the good work done beforehand.

The best Rapid Fat Loss diet is a protein sparing modified fast. These still have their dangers - you need to check with an MD before starting anything like this - but the high protein content of such a diet will prevent any serious damage to organs and will help to ensure there is no muscle loss on the diet (after all - you want to lose fat not muscle).

How to Make a Rapid Fat Loss Diet Safe
1.) Ensure adequate protein intake (1g per lb of lean body mass is ideal)
2.) Ensure potassium salts are taken in the diet (to keep blood pressure high and prevent electrolyte imbalances)
3.) Take fish oil (reduces inflammation)
4.) Avoid all "diet pills"
5.) Ensure the diet is still based on whole foods

This will keep the diet as safe as physically possible, whilst still allowing for the rapid loss of body fat.

Weight Loss

ByVianca Jamelo Cabiluna

: a Life Changing Journey

According to the NATIONAL HEALTH and EXAMINATION SURVEY, weight problems grow all over U.S. are constantly increasing. A massive of 33.8% or one-third of older people and 17% of children and teenagers all around America are overweight; creating these people a simple aim for heart problems and diabetic issues. It is in all understanding that a serious change must be performed to avoid any devastating consequences of weight problems; a healthy and balanced for an extended and healthy lifestyle.

Aside with what statistics claim or exactly what the quantities clearly show that it is a reality is that being overweight or being obese has negative outcomes possibly not just to the physical appearance of a people but also emotionally and psychologically issues. It is often seen in Television programs how overweight parents really feel the regret of not being able to spend time with their children; play basketball game, drive a bicycle or to basically enjoying their moment with their kids in an outdoor environment. Plus, a lot of youths and teenagers that we notice experience for obtaining poor self-confidence in

South Beach Diet Phase 1 - Win the Battle

ByDanielle Nish

So you want to try and conquer the South Beach Diet Phase 1. Congrats! That's a big decision to make. We all know that the first phase is the hardest among all. No need to panic though, I am here to make it easier for you. Let's start by listing the food that you are allowed to eat. This includes nuts, seeds, vegetables, lean proteins and olive oil. As you can see this phase is here to eliminate all the harmful fats and carbohydrates from you eating menu.

OK, let's begin!

Get rid of unwanted food.

Get a trash bag and go search for all the food that is not in your approved list. Start with the fridge. There you will find most of your food that has no permission these two weeks. Don't think you throw money away, it's not like that. Imagine you throw body fat away, how does it sound now?

Also, I know you might have some secret compartments in your house with snacks and sweets. Go there and get rid of them too. You do it for you not for me!

Start shopping for replacements

Right now your house might be empty with food that you want to eat in the south beach diet phase 1. No worries head over to a grocery store and start picking up the food that you like and is allowed. As a word of caution: don't buy more than needed! Write a journal It might sound silly but I promise you it helps. Write down how you feel every day so when you finish you can look back and have a good laugh.

Eat out

You don't have to cook everyday. From time to time look for good restaurants and try out for example new recipes of chicken. For dessert if you think you're on the schedule you can have an apple, but no more than one!

All the coffee and tea in the world

In this phase you can have any amount of coffee and tea you like. But don't get overboard. It's not healthy to drink 1 liter of coffee a day. Also drink plenty of water so your toxins have an easier out.

More cardio, more happiness

You might know that cardio exercises are good for you health. It's true. But did you know it makes you happier too? That's what a recent study says. It claims that you can be up to 60% happier just by doing regular cardio exercises. That's great!

Stop after 2 weeks

Yes I know you knew. But I wanted to remind you. Going for more than 2 weeks can be harmful for your body since you need other nutrients too. All in all I think this is a good diet. Above all, I believe that you can make it through just because you took the time to read this article. My congrats!

Danielle is a person that loves to help others. She was overweight for many years but now that she resolved her weight problems, she is decided to help others too.

Abdominal Exercises for Fat Loss?

I often get asked the question "What's the best way to get rid of the fat around my mid-section?" and people generally seem to be looking for a really unique core exercise that will "burn fat." I hear countless stories of people training their abs every day, but to no avail they still can't see that hidden six pack inside of them. Unfortunately, abdominal exercises are not effective in losing your love handles. Why might you ask? Listen up.

A recent study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research investigated the effect of having participants complete a 6-week regimen of abdominal exercises (7 core exercises, 2 sets each, 10 reps, 5 days a week for 6 weeks) and compared that group to a control group (this group didn't do anything). Prior to, and at the end of the 6-weeks, researchers measured body mass index, body fat percentage (specifically the fat around the midsection), and abdominal endurance (# of crunches) of 24 participants. At the end of the 6 week, there was no statically significant difference between the two groups in body weight, body fat percentage, abdominal fat, or waist circumference. Conclusion, abdominal exercises are not meant to create a six pack!!!

Now that I told you that core exercises are pointless, let me tell you why you shouldn't give up on them just yet. Core exercises are needed in developing proper core strength for everyday activities and for increased performance. They also help in transferring power between our upper and lower extremities such as hitting a golf ball, throwing a football, or any high-intensity exercises. Developing your core muscles should be part of everyone's training regimen, but it should never be the sole focus of it. Further developing your midsection will increase other aspects of your health, such as muscular strength and aerobic endurance.

Many people believe abdominal exercises will build a six pack because of the infamous "Spot Reduction" method. Spot reduction postulates that if you work out a certain muscle, for instance your abdominals, that you will burn fat from the same area, thus developing a six pack. WRONG!!! This method, as shown above, has been proved wrong in numerous studies. When your body wants to burn fat, it will burn fat from areas it chooses too, not where you want it too. Furthermore, primarily focusing on core exercises is inefficient at burning fat because they are such a small muscle group compared to other muscle groups (your legs, back, or chest).

So how do I burn fat so I can see my midsection? As I'm sure you know, this is a very hard question to answer and we will be looking into this subject in future articles but I will leave you with this! Leaning and toning down encompasses two aspects 1) Decreasing your calories 2) Increasing your exercises. I don't want to focus on food in this article, so here are some simple exercises tips to start developing your six pack.

1. Total Body Workouts: Exercises all your muscle groups to burn the most amount of calories

2. High-Intensity Drills: All out efforts (sprinting, cycling, and swimming) are greater for reducing body fat. Try a 10-sec sprint, rest for 50-sec, and repeat 10 times!

3. Consistency: No one sees results after 1 workout. If you want real results, you need to stay active every day!

Will Lowering Calories Help Fat Loss?

Fat loss or weight loss is a huge industry in today's world. You see all different types of diets, equipment and gimmicks that will claim losing weight in days without doing anything. Well, the truth is, none of them work. You have to eat right and exercise in order to lose weight. However, there are lots of confusions in the weight loss world.

There is one category of people who simply say, a calorie is a calorie and calories-in minus calories-out will calculate your weight loss. Then there is this other category of people who say that you need to be more specific. Lowering your calories would mean that your entire diet may comprise of sugar and nothing else, but as long as you are taking-in less calories than you require, you can lose weight. Well, it is true. You will lose weight (not necessarily FAT, but weight, probably), but is that really healthy? I know, this is not practical but you get the idea. Lowering your calories is not a very controlled method. The type of food matters a lot along with the calories.

We know three different types of macronutrients - Carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Now all of them have different pros and cons, so you can't expect to lower whichever you want and lose fat. For example, simple carbohydrates (sugars) are the types of calories that our body loves, but the side effects that it brings are not great if you want to lose fat. There is a spike in your insulin level, which basically (at the end of the day) stores quite a few of these calories as fats for future us. However, if you eat the same amount of calories as proteins, then the following things happen:

- Increased thermal effect of the body as it is harder to breakdown proteins and more calories are used to break it down.

- No significant difference in insulin levels

These are just two benefits that are related to fat loss, but there are a lot of other benefits as well. The only drawback is too much protein over works your kidneys. So you need to drink a lot of water. Similarly if we look at fats, we get two different types of fats (saturated and unsaturated) but the same amount of calories. In both cases, 1 gram is equal to 9 calories and 100 grams would be equal to 900 grams but both have different properties. One helps you lose weight and other makes you gain fat so they are not entirely the same.

It is a tough job deciding what kind of foods will help you lose weight and what foods should be completely off limits. If you want to learn how to eat and what you, visit Fatless Formula

Isagenix Review - Does It Really Work?

If you have reached here, you are probably looking to find out whether Isagenix is a legitimate company or a scam, or if their products really do what they claim to do or if the Isagenix compensation can actually help you make money sitting at home. You might have already scoured through dozens of other Isagenix company reviews, but the problem with most of those, is that they have been written by Isagenix distributors - who typically have a tendency to be biased. Here in this review we are going to take an unbiased look at the company, its products and its compensation plan to get a clear idea so you can make a more informed decision before you become a part of this network marketing company.

Isagenix: The Company

Isagenix also known as Isagenix International was founded in 2002, by nutritional supplement guru John Anderson, along with direct marketing innovators Kathy and Jim Coovers. The Coovers are well known for their experience in the network marketing domain, while John Anderson has formulated over 2,300 different weight loss and health supplements for over 600 companies. The company's leadership and their collective experience in their respective domains do seem to make a great combination for those looking to sign up with the Isagenix network marketing business opportunity. Isagenix has also been a member of the DSA (Direct Selling Association) since 2005.

Isagenix: The Products

Isagenix is primarily known for its revolutionary body cleansing, weight loss and skin care products, however, the core products are its 9-day and 30-day cleanse programs. These programs have been designed to flush out toxins and impurities from the body, help lose weight and replenish the body's lost nutrients. With the increasing health awareness and the rising demand for successful weight loss products, Isagenix does seem to offer products that are highly marketable. The basic idea behind the products is that toxins hinder the body's natural process of breaking down fat, so when these impurities are eliminated and replaced with healthier nutrients, the body processes the fat better and helps to lose weight. While, you are likely to lose weight with these products, the question here is whether it's going to stay off. To lose weight successfully, one needs to continue the program, eat right, and exercise. Other products from Isagenix include IsaLean Shakes, SlimCakes, and the new amazing Product B to name a few.

Isagenix: The Compensation Plan

Isagenix operates on the basis of a binary compensation plan, which means you have to recruit two people to join up with you. If you hire more than two, they will overflow to the spots below the two, who joined you earlier. As your downline grows, you earn more money. You also benefit from the spillover of those who work above you. Besides these, you can also generate earnings in the following ways while working with Isagenix -

Retail profitsTeam BonusesProduct Introduction BonusMatching Check BonusesIncentivesAutoship Rewards

As we can see, Isagenix does offer a legit way of making good money working from home, but what you need to remember is you will need to invest your time, and effort into marketing the product effectively to be successful.

A simple way to be successful in Isagenix is to become a product of the product. Would you ever be involved with a company where you wouldn't use, and trust their products? Of course not. Once you have success with the Isagenix products, you will become a walking billboard of how great the products are, and the end result will be people literally begging you to tell them what you have done to improve your physical and mental well being so much.

When Hunger Strikes: Use These Tips To Calm Your Stomach Fast

If you're currently on a fat loss health plan, one issue that is definitely going to creep up from time to time is that dreaded feeling of hunger. Even the most determined weight watcher who normally has maximum self-control can start to lose it when hunger rears its ugly head. Making smart choices is easy... provided you don't have stomach pains crying out for food.

When that's the situation at hand, you don't really care what you get as long as it's something that will put an end to it. Food cravings shoot through the roof and next thing you know, you're sitting at the local drive-thru window.

If hunger is often getting the best of you on your weight loss program, it's going to be imperative that you seek out some solutions to put an end to this before it destroys your efforts. Let's have a quick look at a few methods to consider. Any of these should quickly calm your hunger pains and get you feeling well again.

Sip Hot Tea

One of the most effective strategies for doing away with hunger is to sip on a hot liquid such as hot tea. Dehydration itself can cause feelings of hunger to occur when what you actually are is just thirsty. In addition to that, hot beverages more than cold can help put an end to feelings of hunger as they tend to be more soothing on the stomach. So with both of these benefits acting in your favour, you really can't go wrong with this quick tip. Try Green tea for the added antioxidant boost you get from it and the extra metabolic enhancing properties.

Shift Your Macronutrient Split

The second way to calm your hunger quickly is to consider shifting your macronutrient make-up of the diet. Lower carb diets do by nature tend to decrease the amount of hunger felt in the body so this is one very good way to gain control over it. While you definitely don't want to avoid carbs altogether as that can cause extra hunger instead, do try and maintain a slightly elevated protein intake as well as healthy fat intake. This will ensure that you're doing everything you can to keep yourself satiated between meals.

Get Active

Moving along, also consider getting active. Simply getting up and going for a walk can help to calm your hunger pains and as an added bonus, you'll burn a few calories in the process. You do have to watch it with this tip however as there are limits. While some exercise can help reduce your hunger level. Too much exercise can just prompt additional hunger pains. A cardio overload especially can cause ongoing hunger that you just can't get rid of, so listen to your body and what works best for you.

Fill Up On Fibre

Finally, the last way to combat hunger is to fill up on dietary fibre. Dietary fibre takes a long time to pass through your system and is going to quickly calm all your hunger pains. Meals that are devoid of fibre aren't going to stick with you for a good period of time so it's highly likely that you'll find yourself wanting more food a short while later. Turn to foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables as well as whole grains to get the most fibre possible. Eat these with each snack or meal and you'll be all set, feeling a difference in no time.

So there you have the most effective strategies for combating hunger and making sure you can stick with your diet plan. Make good use of these and you should have no problem seeing the weight loss you're after.

The Importance of Diet and Supplementation

ByDarrick Sherwin

When you are planning your meals and exercise schedule for optimal health, there are a few basics that are hard to miss. This includes things like avoiding the obviously bad foods like processed foods, deep-fried foods, and sugary or salty snacks. Usually, it involves making sure to exercise every day (or alternating heavy and light workouts depending on your desired end result). Most people would agree that a healthy diet should consist of natural carbohydrates and proteins in moderation throughout the day. However, there is one thing that many people overlook is how important little things can really be. This includes things like supplementation.

Nutritional supplementation is an important component of a healthy life. Mainly this is because it is not always easy to take in all of the necessary nutrients for optimal health. For example, in regards to what to eat after a workout you should eat a combination of carbohydrates and protein that are in ratio to your body weight. This is for the purpose of ensuring your muscles can repair themselves. Carbohydrates and proteins do not usually contain things like antioxidants, though, which are very important in terms of exercise and aging. As you use your muscles, free radicals are produced in your system as a byproduct. Antioxidants help to fight them so that they do not negatively affect your body. These are found in fruits and vegetables, but you can take supplements as well.

Another reason why you should consider supplementation is to get your recommended dosage of Omega-3 fatty acids. Now, these are certainly available in foods, but they are most common in ocean fish and flax seed oil. These are not necessarily things that are readily available or cheap to stockpile, but properly standardized Omega-3 supplements are. There are two reasons why you should take fish oil. First of all, they have an anti-catabolic effect. This means that they protect muscles from degradation during exercise. It also reduces cortisol levels which is something that breaks down muscle tissue. Secondly, though, fish oil has been shown to promote anabolic growth in muscles.

When considering what to eat after a workout there are many factors to include. The amount of carbohydrates and protein you need will depend on your body weight but also what your goals are. If you are trying to bulk up, you'll need a significant amount of proteins and carbs. If you are trying simply get to a healthy weight, though, you'll want to focus more on proper calories and nutrients.

How to Lose Weight and Improve Your Fitness

All I want for Christmas Santa, is the ability to over-indulge and still lose weight!!

More chance of surviving Black Friday without being pepper sprayed!!

Seriously though, we will be looking at our lifestyle, more importantly our health and what we need to do about it.

Do I pop down to my local gym, with it's very nice surroundings, pool, steam room, sauna and over excitable staff!! Watching the latest fashion parade of sports and leisure wear, worn by the same faces I saw last January kick-starting their fitness campaigns.

Or do I do something different?

Well wanting to try something new, well not that new, but a different approach I suppose. I have embarked on a Running program. Nothing new there, I hear you say! This time I have a proper structure to my approach. No popping down to Sports Direct and buying all the right gear, Top of the range trainers, good quality training clothing and treat myself to a GPS gimmicky thing! Following a bit of research, I have discovered what sort of running gait I have, which in turn helped me choose the most appropriate running shoes. You Tube videos cover the subject very well, with some clear and informative clips.

Next, prepare properly to avoid injuries and losing motivation. Consult your GP, especially if you do not exercise on a regular basis. This will help set out realistic goals and not start off too quickly which will be of no benefit to you. Regular check ups with your GP will assist in determining how your body is coping with the new fitness regime before it is too late. Too much running too soon will cause injuries.

Start slowly, a brisk walk followed by a bit of gentle jogging and gradually increase the distance you start running at the end of each walk. This will ensure you have given your body time to warm up, before you start running.

The temptation to want to be doing our personal bests and seeing the weight drop off, is understandable, but also the quickest way of losing motivation. It will take time before we see the fruits of our labour! Anyway it is 4 years before the next Olympics!!

So we have started nice and slowly, the Doc as given their seal of approval. Our feet are being caressed by the latest technology and we cut a dashing figure in our replica Team GB running kit, well it was on special offer!

Where to go running? With a little bit of research, I located a prepared track not too far away, so this helped with a good place to give me a guide on how well I was doing. However, variety is the spice of life, so I had already walked a couple of routes with my trusty Mutts, who to be brutally honest, were starting to fill out a bit in their old age!! My back up plan in the case of bad weather, or in order to treat myself to a soak in the Jacuzzi, the treadmill. Having a variety of surfaces to run on, gives my old knees a break from a constant hard surface, plus a change in surroundings.

On the subject of bad weather, a few top tips on clothing:

Hot - Cap, Sun-Cream and plenty of water.

Cold - Cap, Layers of clothing as opposed to thick clothing and thin insulated gloves.

Wet - Waterproof jacket, decent grip on your trainers and consider high viz markings if running on the road.

Keeping a record of your running program, is well worth it. I use a very easy to use App on my iPhone. It also as a built in GPS, which maps out the distance, time and gradient. So no need for that GPS gimmicky thing, good job I kept the receipt! Recording your runs helps mark your improvements and keep you motivated. I also record the weather conditions. Having a look over past runs, at distances you first thought impossible, which you are now doing without thinking about, gives your motivation a healthy kick.

Watching my weight gradually drop off during my new approach to running, was at first very frustrating. It seemed to take ages before I noticed any improvement, although my running was getting better! So I stopped the weekly weigh in and just concentrated on my running. I also found myself eating better without making too much of an effort. I suppose it was me just not wanting to spoil the effort I was putting in.

If you do start to lose motivation, a couple of things to consider:

- Run with a friend or training buddy
- Local running club
- Run with your dog (if you have one)
- Review your goals, ensure they are achievable

If you take anything away from this article, please chat with your GP first before embarking on your Olympic dream!!

The Common Weight Loss Myths Revealed

ByPatrick J Fitz-Gibbon

Weight loss is a subject that we all have encountered at some point in our lives and whilst there is a lot of very helpful information on the subject there are also many myths that unfortunately are widely believed. This will not only lead to possible failure when trying to follow a weight loss plan, but ultimately they can also be very dangerous.

We have compiled some of the most common weight loss myths and the actual facts, so you can avoid them.

Myth: Fad diets are ideal for permanent weight loss

Fact: The problem with these types of diets is that whilst they help you to lose weight initially, generally they are not suitable for long term weight loss. They often require that you cut certain foods from your diet and or require that you limit your calorie intake, quite severely. This will lead to individuals tiring of them quickly and they will regain the weight that was lost.

They can also be regarded as an unhealthy way to lose weight. When you restrict or eliminate certain food groups from your diet, you can easily become deficient in essential vitamins and minerals that your body requires to function correctly.

Myth: Eating late at night will cause you to get fat

Fact: It does not matter what time of the day you eat. It is how and what you eat that really matters, and also the amount and level of exercise you do. It doesn't matter when you eat, if you are taking in more calories than you are burning then you will gain weight, be it day or night.

Myth: Eating celery and grapefruit will burn fat

Fact: Unfortunately no foods can burn fat, whilst some maybe significantly low in calories the truth is that eating them will not help you burn off excess fat. Although some foods that contain caffeine will help speed up your metabolism for a very brief period they do not in fact cause weight loss.

Myth: Herbal products used for weight loss are safe

Fact: A product that claims it is "natural" cannot automatically be considered safe to use. Generally the products are not tested significantly enough to prove they are safe or effective. There have been recent herbal products that have been banned in the US as they have been known to cause certain health problems and in extreme cases even death has occurred. Just be wary that although a product is herbal, this doesn't translate to being safe or effective.

Myth: Low-fat or fat-free meals are perfect for weight loss

Fact: Just because a product claims to be fat free, this is not necessarily a good food for weight loss. In many cases, fat free foods are filled with sugar and therefore although they may be lower in fat or contain zero fat they can often have high calorie content. The same works for low calorie foods, they often have high fat content. Generally when a manufacturer produces these foods, they often have to substitute the sugar or the fat with other products and often these products are artificial, and artificial food items are not good for weight loss.

Myth: Skipping meals is a good way to lose weight

Fact: This is one of the most common myths surrounding weight loss and although it seems that missing a meal will mean your intake of calories will be lower, studies have proven that those that eat regularly will in actual fact have lower weight than those that skip meals. This could be because when you skip a meal you will feel hungrier later on in the day and you will therefore eat more. By eating regular but small amounts throughout the day will control your appetite.

Myth: Using weights whilst exercising will make you bigger

The Scary Truth About Fad Diets

Fad diets are everywhere these days. They come and go on a weekly basis. Often times, a celebrity's name will be attached to the program in order to attract consumers. The meal plans entail unique eating patterns designed for quick and short-term weight loss. On a general basis, fad diets do nothing to slim down your body for a long period of time. Meanwhile, there are some freighting facts about fad diets to quickly lose belly fat.

The first big scare attached to a fad diet is that it probably has no scientific data to support its weight loss claims. Just because a theory to quickly get rid of belly fat sounds promising, you have no way of knowing that it is entirely safe for your body. At the same time, the directions of the diets are often extremely hard to follow, especially when you are out of the house. If you are like most people, you spend more time eating at work or on the road than in your own kitchen. Also, studies have shown that men and women usually do not stick to fad diets for more than a couple of weeks. After all, you often have to alter your entire lifestyles to see any fast results, and keep off any of the weight that you lose. Some folks just aren't ready to begin such strict diets, robbing their bodies of important carbohydrates and protein.

While waiting in line at the grocery store, you may notice a movie star in the paper. She has even been on several talk shows to discuss her weight loss routines. Hey, whatever works to keep her in the headlines, right? You can also read all about the movie star who famously lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks with the Lemonade Diet, also known as the Master Cleanse Diet. The woman ate no food for ten days. Instead, the pop star lived off of a drink mix containing lemons, maple syrup and cayenne. You can also discover that a super model has an affordable weight loss program that claims to possess great long-term effects. However, dieters have to buy a number of their specific products, as well as attend impractical meetings. You also have to keep track of every calorie to go in your mouth. No thanks.

While losing any weight can be good for your body, too many of these fad diets come with health risks. After all, many folks go undernourished by restricting how many calories they eat. They have no energy, and their bodies grow weak. Meanwhile, memory and concentration skills go out the window. Not getting the right amount of calories can lead to horrible illnesses, including heart disease and diabetes. Too many of these fad diets forget to replace certain vitamins and minerals that are sacrificed in forbidden foods. As a direct result, your metabolism can get all messed up, and who know how chubby you will grow in a year's time? Besides, all you need to do is eat smart and take good care of your body to lose weight and look fabulous.

My wife recently saw an advertisement for one of the latest fad diets on the market. The ad claimed to help her drop 40 pounds in a month's time. I knew it couldn't be true, or at least it wouldn't be safe. So I asked our family doctor how to lose weight fast with a reliable and safe diet. He claimed that eating wisely, exercising, and if medically necessary, the use of hormone treatments are the best ways to experience fast weight loss. Thanks Doc!
