Socializing when you're taking HCG diet drops and following the diet protocol can be difficult. In fact, many people claim going out with friends is the activity most likely to cancel out any HCG diet benefits and throw the diet out the window. You could arrive later at the bar, after you've eaten your meal at home and once everyone else has finished eating. Or, at a family party, fill your plate with HCG-suitable food at the buffet and snack on this selection without going back for seconds. Avoid alcohol by always having a glass of iced water at hand and keeping hydrated.
Keep in better control of the food everyone's eating by hosting a party at your home. This way you can choose what to cook for your friends and family - give them larger portions of the food that's also suitable for you and have them fill up on sides of bread or pasta. Skip dessert completely in favor of some quality time together outdoors (if the weather is right!), watching a DVD, showing your vacation photos... anything a little active that makes everyone forget about the sweet course.
If you find it too challenging to decline when everyone else is eating, change your social life to revolve around things other than food and drinking. Plan events and occasions yourself, don't wait for someone else to take the initiative. Enjoy a spa day, go to the movies, look around a gallery or museum with friends or go see a sports game. Spend a day shopping with friends and check out all the outfits you can look forward to wearing once you're a smaller size. If you've got the cash, treat yourself to something new. Try to pace yourself on days out - include regular rest breaks and pack fruit and vegetables from your diet allowance so you don't get over-hungry. If you go to non-food places where food is served (like the movie theatre), bring your own snacks like diced apple or frozen strawberries and walk straight past the concessions stand.
You're going to have to face temptation at some point in your diet. You need to ask yourself if that bowl of chips is worth sabotaging your diet for. Remember a diet isn't forever! You don't need to stop socializing but you do need to be strong and you'll be down to your ideal weight in no time.
