If you are like most fat Americans, then you have tried to lose weight. Maybe it worked and maybe it didn't, but nonetheless, you are fat right now and you wish you weren't. So what gives? First of all, to lose weight you have to be dedicated to it. To maintain a healthy weight, you have to be even more dedicated. Now I'm not talking about hours in the gym every day or eating less than your three year old. I'm talking about reasonable and effective lifestyle changes that will get you to your goal. These ideals don't go away when you hit your magical weight, they continue as part of your life. But at the end of the day, if you do not decide now that you will stick to it, then something else will slowly takes its place. People usually start slipping in their program as the little things in life get in the way. You can't let this happen if you want to see success. You have to plan your day around your program, not plan your program around your day.
Once you are able to find the resolve to end your reign of obesity, then finding the most effective program is essential. You can shop around, but I already have the best program for you. It requires lifestyle change in three main areas. First, you are what you eat, so eating the right amount of the right things is important. And if you have developed the necessary resolve, then you make no exceptions. Second, exercise is essential. Not too little, not too much, but you always give every ounce of yourself when you do it. Last is supplementation. While it is not exactly essential for weight loss, supplements can get you where you're going faster and easier. There are a million out there, but some are better than others.
Whether you are fat or really fat, you need to get with the program and lose it. If you are not 100% ready to do it, you've already failed. You can do it though, you just need the resolve and the know-how to get it done and continue throughout your life.
