Weight Loss - Eating Right And Proper Exercise Will Do It

For decades we have been fixated on dieting and what the scales says in our quest for slimness. Throw in some long slow exercise activity like walking or jogging and you had the formula for weight loss. But now in our modern day science has finally provided the proof that these methods were not the best for weight loss and in fact we now know that 95 per cent of the time they did not work.

We now understand that when a person becomes overweight overeating is not the only cause. Sure taking in more fuel (calories) than one can burn up will result in extra body fat but there is much more to it than that. Our body's engine - our metabolism is at the root of it all, its health and condition determines whether we are slim and trim or overweight.

So, we look to getting our metabolic motor in good condition for weight loss. This means we need to do the only thing that will increase our metabolism and that is proper strengthening exercise. The tone of our muscles is what drives the metabolism and many people do not get anywhere near enough muscle building and maintaining activity in the course of their day. Our modern world has removed all of the physical 'work' that could keep us strong in favor of us living 'comfortable' 'easy' lives.

Weight loss is difficult with a slow metabolism
But unfortunately, when our muscles are allowed to become weak and flabby their energy requirements decline and this is the number one reason why we accumulate excess fat weight. So, for weight loss we have to get our muscles toned back up and burning more fuel. When they do that they burn more while you are exercising but also when you are sleeping or resting.

This is the key to weight loss but the right type of exercise must be done for it to work. The old fashioned types of exercise that we used to believe worked do not work. They only burn a few calories up while you are doing them but we need to boost the metabolism so it is burning more calories round the clock.

A proper program of strength training exercise is very effective for weight loss. Just 2-3 sessions each week are needed but some effort does need to be put into each session to make the changes you need to make deep down to your muscular system. The little pink dumbbells are not going to do the job if weight loss is your goal.

You can still do your other low intensity exercise just do not replace your strength training with them. Keep them as part of living an active lifestyle which is what you need to do for long term weight loss, but a rebuild of your metabolism must come first.

A healthy eating plan is next on the list to support your energy levels so you can do justice to your exercise program. This means ditching as much processed 'dead as a doornail' non-nutrient foods as possible and replacing them with natural whole foods that you cook from scratch.
Weight loss requires the right foods
Yes, you will need to get yourself back into the kitchen but if your goal is weight loss processed foods are not going to make and keep you healthy with a fat burning metabolism. Processed foods will only give you a sluggish fat storing metabolism so getting rid of them is the very best move you can make to become slim again.

Make these changes in your lifestyle and watch the weight loss happen. Not only will you lose weight you will become healthier, have more energy and vitality so you can live life to the fullest.

How To Lose Weight - Foods You Must Avoid

ByH. Miller

I don't know of anyone was excited about being overweight. Is just not fun. As a matter of fact, It makes it virtually impossible for you to have any fun. So if you are tired of the up and down roller coaster known as dieting, keep reading as I am going to share with you the foods you must avoid in order to start losing weight.

But before I do, let me just say that there is no magic formula for losing weight. It takes work, dedication and commitment. Its a total lifestyle change. OK, let's get down to business. Here are the foods you must avoid.

Processed Foods

Processed foods are very inexpensive and they are easy to prepare. That's why so many people choose them over the more healthy options. But processed foods are bad for you. Of course the manufacturers won't tell you this because, well they want your money. In all honesty they could care less about what it does to your health.

All they see is dollar signs. Processed foods have a ton of chemicals in them to help extend their shelf life. These chemicals are very dangerous. Processed foods also contain trans fat which is responsible for high cholesterol and can put you at risk for cardiovascular disease.

Sugar

We eat way too much sugar. The problem is that sugar is in just about everything we eat. Therefore it can be very difficult to realize just how much of it we are eating on a daily basis. The problem with sugar is that it contains empty calories. In other words, it has absolutely no nutritional value. When you eat it the bulk of it gets stored as fat in your body. This means it won't help you lose weight.

But that's not all. Sugar can also cause your immune system to become depressed, put you at risk for heart disease and osteoporosis among other things.

Artificial Sweeteners

Most people think if they drink diet soda they are helping themselves lose weight. This couldn't be further from the truth. You see, those diet drinks contain artificial sweeteners. And by artificial I mean they are made up in a lab somewhere. Therefore, artificial sweeteners are not a friend to those trying to lose weight.

As a matter of fact, they actually stimulate your appetite and make you want to eat even more. So if you really want to lose weight, avoid artificial sweeteners at all costs.

How To Keep Your Cholesterol Levels Within Range With The Proper Diet

ByJules Redicce

Whether you like it or not, cholesterol is part of your body and its role (in cell membrane building as well as certain hormones and acids that process fat) it's essential. However, high cholesterol level in our blood is a red-flag and it must be lowered.

High levels of LDL (bad cholesterol) can clog our arteries and, therefore, we'd be at risk of suffering from Atherosclerosis, which is a major cause for strokes and heart attacks.

We get cholesterol from two sources; our own body and certain foods we eat. Our body naturally produces it and, according to the United State NCEP (National Cholesterol Education Program), in the necessary amount required for proper functioning; meaning that we don't need any extra sources to fulfill our needs for cholesterol.

Foods from animal source, like poultry, eggs, milk, red meat, provide significant amounts of cholesterol in addition to the levels we naturally produce. So we better start considering reducing our servings of those foods!...Right?

RIGHT! And we also should increase our servings with safe foods like vegetables, seeds, nuts and fruits, which contribute with no cholesterol whatsoever.

Trans fats and saturated fatty acids are the main contributors of cholesterol in our bodies so we need to find the right diets to lower (or even eliminate) this dangerous element from our blood.

According to the American Heart Association, we should limit our daily cholesterol intake to a maximum of 300 mg; this can be easily achieved and maintained with a proper diet plan; the ones with low saturated fats, no Trans fats and lots of fiber like vegetables, fruits and grains.

As stated before, saturated fats are found in foods from animals, like lard, dairy products that are rich in fat, chicken with skin, eggs, liver, red meat; and also palm oil, sausages, etc.

You can also supplement your diet with Lecithin - it contains Phosphatidyl Choline; which increases solubility of cholesterol and allows the elimination of fatty deposits in our arteries by breaking down the plaques.

Try to eliminate all oily foods and increase your intake of food rich in Omega 3 and 6; this is also important to normalize your blood cholesterol level and add up to your overall health too.

Resort to your doctor for advice and ask for regular blood tests. Keep an eye on your LDL (bad cholesterol) levels and adequate your eating habits to keep it below 100mg/dL. Just as complementary information, your HDL (good cholesterol) level should be above 60mg/dL and your total cholesterol level below 200mg/dL.

Best Weight Loss Programs On The Internet

ByTrevor McNichols

Two Best Weight Loss Programs to Choose From: Are you looking to lose weight fast? Most people are, but do you realize that fast weight loss equates to fast weight gain too? What comes up must come down! It applies here too.

Extreme weight loss diet plans are everywhere, especially online. You will have no problem finding one to choose from, but what eventually ends up happening is that you will pick one, follow it, lose weight (the wrong kind of weight), then you will gain the weight back again, then pick another new fad diet to follow, only to be repeating this process over and over again for the rest of your life.

What affect do you think this approach to weight management has on your overall health? Let me tell you, it is not good!

Everywhere you look for online weight loss you find website after website, or article after article, touting to be the best weight loss program, explaining what diets and weight loss products to follow, how you will miraculously lose gobs of fat, be as skinny as a string bean, when in reality you should have never follow any diet at all.

Aren't you tired of always being overweight? If you are obese, aren't you tired of always being uncomfortable and unhealthy? Why would you want to put yourself through suffering on some nasty diet, only to gain all the weight back again once you go off the diet? It makes no sense to me!

I have a very large friend of mine who I have seen repeat this process over and over again, over the past 35 years. He just won't listen and he keeps punishing himself on diet after diet, when in reality, losing weight is so easy.

There are two programs online that will not only help you to lose weight, they both teach you how to keep the weight off, forever, plus what they promote will help you to improve your overall health, which is even more important. The healthier you are, the less chance you have of attracting one of the many diseases that afflict many people today.

So my advice to you is to quit dieting! Start taking better care of yourself on a daily basis so you can have a healthier body as you age. Pick one of these two best weight loss programs that teach you how to be much healthier and lose that unwanted weight for good!

Can't Lose Weight No Matter What You Do?

ByDerek G. Johnson

A question we receive a lot in our health & fitness business is, "Why can't I lose weight no matter what I do?" Many of our clients, students, and customers, come to us saying that they've been on X, Y, or Z diet for awhile and nothing is happening. Fat loss is either way too slow or it has stalled out. Or, no weight is being lost at all. And this is happening despite consistent exercise and healthy eating.

What's going on here?

When we deconstructed what people were doing, we found that the diet programs they were trying were in fact solid, and based on good nutritional science. In theory a lot of the diet plans they were using should have been working to help them lose fat. But despite people's best intentions and efforts many times EVEN the best diets were just making things worse. What we've discovered is that it's not the diet programs themselves, but simply your body that's not responding because of internal issues and poor digestion. If you cannot lose weight no matter you do it's because your body's metabolism and digestive tract is 'damaged' in a way. (Don't worry, this isn't as scary as it sounds and we can help you correct it). Your system has been pounded by years of poor nutritional and exercise choices. So, when given a diet that technically should help you lose fat, your body can't do anything with it.

We call this state 'turbulence'. Turbulence occurs when your body cannot digest the food you're eating properly (no matter how healthy it might be). This leads to a whole slew of other health problems, but primarily it leads to excess body fat and the inability to lose fat. What happens is that debris from poorly digested foods accumulate in your digestive tract until essentially your insides become clogged and backed-up with mucus...

...and your body refuses to thoroughly digest the majority of the food that you eat. What we've found is that when your body is in this state of 'turbulence', insulin, which is a hormone responsible for fat storage, is shuttled after your meals to deal with the undigested foods. And this ultimately leads to blood sugar crashes. And blood sugar crashes lead to poor metabolism and fat storage!

During turbulence, your body cannot get all the nutrients it needs from the foods you're eating (this is why even healthy eating can't solve this). When your body doesn't get the nutrients it needs it sets off the 'starvation' mode signal in your body, which tells the body to hold on to additional body fat 'in case of emergency'. This is why good digestion is SO important. If your body isn't digesting the food you eat properly, then it doesn't matter what you put in it. The scary part is that once you reach higher levels of body fat, your body actually stores more of your energy as additional body fat? Turbulence, the state you're likely in right now, is one major reason why traditional diets just simply don't work, and why you cannot lose weight despite your best efforts.

But there's a way out of Turbulence. It's not exactly easy, but it's simple.

The solution is what we call the 'Flow' state and you can read about it here: BodyResetProgram.com/Flow.
